From: Daneel Junot and then there's all the other stuff xcite sells. I've not been a customer of the animal genitalia part of the store, but thinking about the number of furries in sl....
That's interesting, I wasn't aware they made animal parts. Furries in general have enough vendors for this kind of thing though so it's not like there's a lack of them. If I've ever met a furry that wasn't an artist, they were an engineer (code or otherwise) instead. I do fully agree with Charlie's code snippet, as well as the "wire tap" and "ECM" ideas. The change to another channel would really be transparent as far as the users are concerned and the code would need very few changes (really only the relay part, doing llOwnerSay when it receives chatter on the specified channel). And it opens up a more appropriate avenue of customization as well, allowing couples to specify which channel their parts should be using so you don't get cross talk from another nearby couple. As a means of security for intimacy, spam reduction, AND lag reduction sim-wide this would be the logical extension (as it were) of the xcite system. On the other hand, I realize Javier's position. <coughs> By moving to private channels you're essentially writing exclusion into the objects which forces others to buy the objects to interact or listen in, or make your own listeners. For as many programmers as I know on SL I know they're still a minority so that excludes a lot of people. While this doesn't seem like much of a problem for most who just want less chatter, certain incompatability issues arise for people who use other parts, for instance. By doing all the interactions on channel 0, you're ensuring that no matter who's involved or what bits they wear, everyone can enjoy sex in this medium. I think Charlie's suggestion however is a definant improvement, and steps CAN be taken to make them have a public mode as well with a bit more code.

If I've ever met a furry that wasn't an artist, they were an engineer (code or otherwise) instead. Yup. For females it doesn't make much difference, except for a 'tail' script that they sell, which can be dropped into a modifyable avatar's prim tail to make it responsive. But for males, they offer three species of 'equipment'. *blush* And on the male parts, as well as the main female part, they furry version has a different attachment point as a default than is used for the Humans, to avoid conflicts with the most common prim tail attachment point. Quite thoughtful of Javier and his crew. I am a bit surprised that they don't offer a 'drop in script' option for *ahem* other furry attachments. As you said, there's some well-designed stuff out there already. But I guess most of those tend to have their own scripting, and are not necessarily as easy to add a script to. *looks around, somewhat embarrassed* Um... not that I spend that much time in their store. Really!

Of course not, we all know you're a respectable citizen of furry society. ^.^;

I have an excite 'part' that has broken, making me unable to get a menu on it yet.Resetting scripts doesn't help. The point of this comment is..it sbeen broken for weeks, and my sl fiance hasn't complained. We rarely used the clicking menus, and it wa smostly for the lips or ass when playing around..roleplaying and typing the scening out just feels better to us. Thats a good thing I believe.

Because the RL one doesnt? I dunno about that Lord Sullivan, after a few drinks I could SWEAR I've heard one talk. I don't remember exactly what it said, but its' tone was very serious.

that reminds me of a whispering coffee i have. i threw it really hard when i heard that. "enjoy your coffee. Coarticy of whatever. ". Seriusly when your coffee talks to you, either you need more of it or its time to stop.

OK, need to supply more cheese!
03-27-2006 12:12
 These forums are getting silly! If you dont like something dont use it, it you dont like hearing something, dont be close to it! You really have to go out of your way to overhear the xcite sounds of passion. Unless I go to a club, never encounter it. People usually go to sex clubs for their featured product, not conversation For the majority of the writers am leaving the above. No not goverment cheese! One I make way too much money to recieve it and two, the goverment only gives away "American" cheese!
