Xcite, Please SHUT UP!

Sometimes in a public sex area, there is so much "Xcite Spam" going on, it literally fills the screen to the point where you cant even see what you and your partner are doing.

Is there any way to issue a global mute to all Xcite chatter?

Someone said you could click the individual body part and mute it but not only is that tedious, but it seems to mute the whole person, not just their Xcite item.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Sugust that you do not go to those places. I admit it gets more than boring but dont they have the right to do the nasty at the sex gardens of SL? Maybe all of that chatter makes them happy. Next you would want a universal mute.

If you want privacy, why dont you go to your private land with the no fly zone, eject, send home, unseat script program?

Chase - You can mute objects just like you can avatars. As long as the object name stays the same, you should be able to mute it.

I was wondering if there was any way for ME ALONE not to see the 100 xcite messages per minute.

I would never suggest that they be muted for EVERYONE... that's just silly

I would even PAY FOR IT, if Xcite themselves extorted us into buying some "Xcite Squelcher" that i could wear and not have to hear that, I would do it gladly

really is annoying. im with ya. not to mention how sad and pathetic it is.

cant get a laid in the real world... must resort to green text and pixels. there is clearly something wrong mentally (obviously, physical too) with these people. i would use caution when approaching these types.

at least, if you cannot find whos spamming, you can always wait around at the nearest prim baby making store. im sure after a long, hot night of xcite/play sexy prim babies only seem logical.

The Xcite! devices all have very handy and easy to find mute buttons. They can also be set to whisper. With a single click on the HUD, every item being worn by an avatar can be muted. The decision whether to mute these items, as with all items a person wears, rests with the individual wearing them and is completely at their discretion.

The is no way to issue a global mute to ANY chatter in Second Life, because then you would hear nothing from anyone. You do have individual mute control over any residents that are annoying you. As stated above, when at a public "sex park" you should expect to overhear sex. I would suggest if it bothers you that you find a quieter location to enjoy yourself.

They run an "event" every hour called "SeXXXCapades" or something like that, and it's basically this big platform full of sexballs and horny newbies.

and in terms of muting object chatter, you click Ctrl H and you'll see at the top of the history screen a list of things you've heard, select the Xcite stuff and click "Mute resident" it'll add it to a list of muted stuff and it'll just mute that object.

I'm actually pretty disappointed. I hear all these criticisms of SL being so full of sex and unsavory activity and I think, "Ah, they are exaggerating." Then I hear of shit like "public sex areas" and I just have to shake my head.

I mean, I can understand fulfilling some unsatisfied desire with a special person in SL or whatever, especially if your first life doesn't give you that option for whatever reason, but this "public sex area" shit is just prurient and excessive.
