I believe Lindens time would be better spent if they concentrated on fixing the bugs of this game instead of killing dwell and such. Besides killing dwell only helps a few dozen people and not everyone will benefit.

Where do you get your number "a few dozen"?

Dwell is an on/off switch. My suspision is it takes more time for Phil to scratch his arse, belch, and say "Make it so" than it does for Andrew or someone to flip the switch.

With the way the game has been running, Linden Labs needs to put everyone on it. not just a few people. Economic people might be able to help somehow,

And the receptionist. Let's not forget the receptionist. Get her off the phones and into the code already. About time she start pulling her weight, I say.

Do you really want to have an economist coding? The art guy? The lady that fixes coffee? The PR folks?

Think before you answer.

I counted the number of people in here who cheered when they heard that the Lindens had caved in and taken our dwell away.

So, in other words, the statistic is made up?

Then if they can't help they need to go home till things are fixed. All resources should be used to fix the problems before caving into a select few

LL Should not pay us to play SL, period.
I DO however think they should provide more entertaining events and such instead of relying soley on the customers...

No they are not. its a clear fact that most don't care about the economy and only come here to have fun. From what I have seen only a few dozen if that care at all.

Wait...

How does crippling the other arms of LL help the coders?

That's not what you said though. You said "it only helps". Not "only care about".

As you can now see, anyone who disagrees with the loss of dwell is attacked in the forums. I did this post slightly because I am upset that SL seems to have a problem that has continued for days now but also to show you all what happens when someone disagrees with the loss of dwell and yes I do disagree. No matter what my reason, I am told I am a joke etc, or that I make up figures etc.

It's pretty clear you've never run a business. You don't send the secretary home because she isn't needed for the board meeting. She has other valuable duties. I understand you have your view on dwell but you're using arguments you have no understanding of. Stick to what you know and you'll sound more logical.

They didn't 'take it away' - they're just not paying for it. Subtle difference, but I'll still be able to look at the Waterworks parcel and say 'hmm looks like a lot of ppl spent time here today - I must be doing something right!' or 'Hmm not many people been spending time here - maybe I should do something new!'

People who based business on Dwell alone may have to make adjustments - as for me I think my plan is coming along a-o-k and soon I'll be ready to take WaterWorks to the next level and make it something I hoped I could do from the outset: A self sustaining waterpark that need not go the way of so many other fun places in SL.

There is no economic viability in free money. Dwell, traffic, is money simply for 'hits', people dwelling at a certain location with no real monitoring if they're an alt or as is often common, a method of gaming dwell (money balls, money chairs, camping anything) to make free money without providing real content provides no real potential for growth of the economy, it's merely bribing people to make your numbers look artifiicially good and provide nothing in return.

While some people do provide decent and real content, they are eclipsed by people who would rather find ways to trick others into providing them with free money. The metric has been broken for as long as it's existed in SL, and I'm honestly glad to see it go.

The goal of killing dwell is to support the value of the Lindie. Here is anouther way to do that. Make the grid stable so that people will *want* to spend them in the first place!

But the two issues are completely unrelated. If you had just said "This downtime sucks!" people would probably agree with you. You're trying to connect two unrelated things, though.

I have a suspision that when you stop making up figures, people will stop accusing you of it.
