No matter what the FIC may individually think (or so-called FIC because I'm not sure what the original "FIC" actually meant - but when I say FIC, I just refer to a group of "more equal than other" SL members) 27 to 29 people DO feel that its just the oldbies crying up a river because they've lost influence. So, my point is valid and believed among non-Ficers. Its not like its 0% as the ninnypoos would have you believe. I'm a non-FIC'er, as you put it, and don't believe a word of this "secret organization", it was indeed invented by one person. This person felt he was on the outside looking in at certain things. FIC by the way, stands for Feted Inner Core, for those not in the know. I for one, feel it's time to let go of the myths and go forward with our lives. Oh, please, don't push him to Gor, I'm not involved in that either, but have friends who are, and they're generally decent folks. Thanks, Vic |

Personally, it was all too much pressure for me anyways. I influenced the lindens' every decisions. I dictated what they ate at breakfast, I decided who they should date, what pets to buy, which movies to see and I even had complete control of their stocks for a while.
I'm glad those days are over. I have my life back, and more free time to develop that serious drug habit I've been thinking about for years. _____________________

I still don't know what FIC means. It was a phrase coined by a rather - um - individualistic - poster, who claimed that some people had a channel to the Lindens, and received preferential treatment. The phrase was 'Fêted Inner Core'. It was immediately seized on by many posters, most of whom misread it as 'Fetid Inner Core'. In any event, it caught on rapidly. It's not surprising really, because it's a resonant phrase that doesn't really mean anything. It has gone from strength to strength, outstripping 'Stop To Make Babies in a Box!' quite early in its career. _____________________

Its no secret that the so-called "FIC" seem to be under attack from Linden Labs. They have seemingly served their purpose (content creation / bug testing) but now LL has attained critical mass necessary to give them the boot. Which is seemingly what is happening. They're not happy. From the tone of these threads (all started by former fan bois / fan girlz) they are trying to convey the message that SL is under some sort of seige. /108/45/125215/1.html /108/6e/124684/1.html /108/1b/124675/1.html /108/58/125192/1.html I call bullsh*t. SL is thriving like never before. I go in world and can do so much with my friends, see so many creative builds, and exercise my creative building/scripting power like never before thanks to the veritable encyclopedia of resources now at anyone's fingertips. I cannot say that I blame the FIC for being upset they are getting kicked to the curb, but honestly what did they expect? To be the Kings and Queens of SecondLife forever? This is just my opinion, and you all are entitled to yours. But I do believe mine makes sense. newbies annoy me _____________________
