I think an earlier poster got it right. Your proposal was not comented on becauxse of the sweeping, quick devaluation of Teleport land so a "no comment" was the best thing. Privacy on the other hand has been a problem that affects everyone in SL and there are no financial implications for residents if a comment is made. I for one welcome Torley taking interest, wouldn't it be nice to hear more feedback like that, not less.

Opinion:I did not support the removal of dwell or the Developer's Incentives. The only thing I supported was the removal of the ratings bonuses, because they had an inequity built into them in perpetuity.

I'm not sure who "most of us" are - whether you meant most of those who have responded in this thread so far, or most of the people on the forums (in which case, you would need to look again at the various polls on these topics), or most of the people in the game (which I highly doubt), or some other group you have in mind. But definitely, I'm not in that group.

Mostly, though, I would like object to the use of the words "gaming" and "welfare" in your portrayal of the legitimate uses of legal aspects of SL as "the gaming of welfare systems." Dwell doesn't, in my opinion, represent a "welfare system" whatsoever, for many reasons. Indeed, none of these things represented or represent a welfare system of any kind. The use of that word is a biased and loaded misnomer.

I would be hugely against the removal of stipends, as well as any characterization of them as some sort of "welfare system."

coco
Too bad - he gets his opinion - something you scream people are trying to take away from you at every turn.

With respect to "most of us" I am thinking that is directly comparable to the ambiguous "they" who you like to use frequently to bolster your own arguments. That same "they" who are going to "leave SL" everytime LL changes something, yet the resident count keeps on rising endlessly.

There is an increasing and disturbing trend on the forums lately, to refer to any opinion one doesn't like as "libelous." coco

Bah. When someone says nasty things about a group of people in print which aren't true, then "broadly libelous" is accurate regardless of one's agreement with the underlying statement.

Something else I've noticed coco that's equally disturbing in the forums. There's a handful of posters who continually accuse others of having LL in their back pocket. Not only is is disturbing, but it's a way for the accusers to muzzle these poor people who are really just residents like you and I.

Okay, here we go again. His email is philip@lindenlab.com and he's given it out at every town hall he's ever done!

Sources please? While most of us supported removing the gaming of welfare systems in SL, I don't think anyone who posted in this thread ever formally proposed or voted for any of these things. Stop telling untruths, or at least provide some sources where someone who posted on this thread proposed or voted for the things you list above.

Small minority? Oh, I forgot, if it doesn't benefit Magnum's ability to stalk people, then its a "small minority." If it benefits Magnum's ability to stalk people, then its the "silent majority." Jeez, you're predictable.

Oh, and by the way, there IS a publically announced community roundtable meeting tonight...and a discussion mailing list you can join, that you've CHOSEN not to be a part of.

http://secondlife.com/community/mailinglists.php

Oh, but wait, it must be an elitist group if anyone from Second Life can join it simply by perusing the web site.

I don't stalk people and that was over the line,

My post here is about people who seem to have more sway with the powers that be than others.

I support the privacy proposal, this is not about that. Its about those who seem and note, I am saying Seem because thats the more correct word here, those who seem to have more sway than others over the powers that be.

All of you need to get out more often, consume alcohol, loosen up, and get laid.

And I really mean that sincerely, since I practice what I preach.

:)

Not ingrid though, she's an out-of-control party girl.

Think about it, if Power Elite really were THAT powerful they would have pulled the usual Linden strings and had you banned from the forums long ago.

That happened to Prokofy Neva didn't it?

... Just sayin...

Wish I could remove this thread from existance.

Just like when you wanted to retroactively remove your proposal for point to point teleporting last December after it was pointed out that Linden Lab took interest in a proposal made BY YOU, when you were bellyaching about Flipper's thread at that time?

It's disturbing that you follow him around disparaging his character for simply doing what you did with p2p - advocating for a change.

Can we expect that anytime Flipper posts about privacy controls that you will be there making insulting comments toward him?

How would YOU have liked it if when you were proposing and posting about your desire for p2p, Flipper was all over YOUR ass, claiming absurd and unprovable garbage about YOU?

You're no saint my friend, and all you're doing is proving how unfounded and hypocritical your charges are everytime you attack Flipper over this issue.

And before you start with the "Star Chamber vocal minority" blather again - see this poll in which 57 people have voted for privacy controls in a 24 hour period:

/108/21/104419/1.html

How many voted for your p2p prop in the first 24 hours?

See Hiro's poll too, in which even more people have voted for at least some form of privacy control:

I wish this forum an easy way to do nested quotes.

In simple words, Jennyfur is saying there is no "Power Elite" and Magnum's continued posting is evidence of it.
From: Khamon
Nested quotes work like this.
The original poster is adept at marginalizing himself by continually blaming everything that he doesn't care for on some sort of "star chamber" rather on Linden Lab.

This does work, you just have to type the second quote, tags and all, manually.
