Look Set - your missing the entire point of SL -- read my lips it is not Real Life.
Its role playing - do I have to name other games that use other genre? World of Warcraft and Diablo? Star Trek, Dungeons and Dragons, Mario Brothers, Donky Kong. Have you ever played anything else or just Second Life? Have you seen the SL Avies that are birds, dragons, zombies, and mafia? Thats the beauty of having an imagination. Go get you one. Im proud to say I have tried all the games and have several AVs in SL . I've been a furry, a robot, a baby, a dragon . . . . and just because I have been a robot does not mean I want to have sex with a Pontiac Solstice---- well ok maybe I do. Mmm Saturn Sky Oooo baby. . . . Try it sometime, get out of that box your in and explore the world of Massive Online Role Playing Games. Be somebody other than your closed minded self. |

Okay, listen, there's obviously a disconnect here. I'm living in my ignorant not-wanting-to-have-sex-with-or-as-animals world and you guys aren't. Set, you are stereotyping. You assume that everyone and anyone claiming to be a Furry enjoys animal anthropomorphic sex. It's like claiming every Star Trek fan lives in their parent's basement. I am not a furry. People often think I am because of my SL avatar but I am not a member of that fandom. Yet I have met a number of really cool people in SL who are and none practice the seedier aspect of their fandom that people like you seem to love to glamorize. |

As a matter of fact, you're apparently ignorant of about 90% of what it means to be a furry, and the small knowledge that you do seem to have is apparently based on misinformation like that CSI TV episode, that characterized furries as homosexual perverts. Guess what? It was a TV show... not a real life documentary! Classifying anyone who is into furry in the way that you did is about as accurate as stating that all high school students are gun-toting wackos who want to shoot their classmates. Time for YOU to grow up, and actually try talking to someone who has been a furry for more than the amount of time it takes to get drunk and put on a furry avatar and do some strange stuff just for kicks. Talk to someone who has been a furry for several years, and it just might be an eye-opening experience for you. Yes, believe it or not, there's some pretty deep philosophical sides to it. And then there's art. And not just erotic art, either... To anyone who has actual knowledge of the furry lifestyle, your comments clearly mark you as being ignorant of a large amount of what 'furry' is all about. And no, it is NOT OK to make fun of people in SL who are different than what you consider 'normal'. Try reading the Terms of Service for SL. The part where it says that you're supposed to be tolerant of others beliefs? I just saw that show the other day (gotta love reruns) and nearly had a coronary. I also hate how they protrayed Dominas and S&M, but thats another thread. Most things non-furries know about the furry mindset is from things like TV, magazines and rumours. It's like any other fetish in that way, there is bound to be people who are ignorant to the subculture and make sweeping generalizations. I've been on SL for almost a month now. The only harrassment I've seen or experienced was verbal, and sometimes that was disturbing enough. Hang in there furries and ride out the storm. Griefers won't last forever. |

Well before I wrote my first response, I did a quick look up on wikipedia, and the topic starter's name has connotations to furry sexuality. Personally, I'm a vegetarian and an animal lover, and the thought of you people wanting to have sex with animals, no matter who you want to pretend you are, is disgusting. Also i am quite aware of the fact, Sl as a whole is being griefed. I am just one of the many community leaders pissed off about it. This was quite a large attack that affected many different sims. I treat all griefers the same. The moment a gun is out, i take caution. I'm just getting sick of it. LL just release the damn no-push abilities please... About it breaking cars, THE HAVOK SYSTEM IS NOT THAT PIRIMATIVE (PLAY OBLIVION A BIT)! If your having this problem maybee you need to take in a few more programmers and fix it up correctly... >.>

I honestly don't care about things like that. What you do in your bedrooms is your business. I don't watch CSI, either.
