Ok I've had it. LL doesn't give a crap, and were out every day defending our communities against these cyber terrorists. Yesterday most of the furry sims seamed to have been visited by 2 groups of griefers. I advise you all to keep a eye out for them. They seam sore cuz they got banned from their precious porn site (4Chan) so their taking it out on all the furry sims for god knows why... Just a bunch of retarded pricks. I will not name names but i will tell you the groups. They are 'CAKE', and '/b/anditos'.
If any of those people are reading this, i have already recorded your names and will give them to whoever asks (incase you try to leave group). If LL isn't going to help us we need to ban together and fight back people. So i would like to join a griefer prevention group to get alerts and share names. I tried one but they seamed inactive so i said heck with it. Also i have a question if anyone can answer it. Did Linden Lab add that hash ban thing? So if you grief, your computer will be unable to log you into SL ever again? Possibly after buying 5 or 6 computers the griefers will call it quits?
I'm at the point in SL where I'm just gonna start banning anyone holding a gun. -.- I always use my non physical vehicle, i never walk anymore. Since most griefers use human avs it makes me on edge when i see humans in our sims. i know they aren't all like that. :/ If LL doesn't do something soon I'm gona start encouraging everyone to tell new residents what to expect as soon as they apear.

i'm just new and all, but do you think people like linden labs would take you more seriously if you didn't get off to naked humanized animals?

Yiffy, you have my sympathy. It royally sucks that you guys have to spend your Second Life in a constant red-alert state, unable to just relax and enjoy. It's wrong and unfair and I really hope that LL gives sim owners and maintainers the tools to deal with this problem much more effectively. Since the days of Ultima Online, the one thing I just can't stand in MMOGs (and similar) are griefers. You know, I have the same reaction when I see anyone flying around holding a gun; I give them NO benefit of the doubt. I immediately sit down or get in the non-phys and watch them like a hawk with a twitchy finger over the ban button. Why hold in the hand a visible gun if you have no intention of using it? In my experience, a gun-toting avatar that one doesn't know and trust, especially one in starter clothes or close to it, usually heralds incoming twattery. It makes me wish I had enough expendable cash to buy a sim, make it all nice for the furs, and then close up the damn thing, allowing entry by invite only. Anyone who asks can come in, but they'd better be good! Would cut down on the random en-masse griefer visits, at least. -_-

Banning weapon wielding avs makes sense.

It's something I've considered seriously. If people did that, there would probably be less of an issue.
I'm very disappointed that LL backed out of the 1.11. release where they were going to give us an option for disabling push on our land. That would have solved a lot of problems.

Out of my depth?
So is there some sort of philosophical aspect of the furry lifestyle I'm missing out on, or is it just not okay to make fun of people who pretend they're animals and like thinking about having sexual relations with other animals?
Grow up, seriously.

Sorry to hear this. It is not only happening to furries though. Almost every listed event I have been to in the past two weeks has been afflicted by griefers at least once, and I have attended a wide variety of different events Tringo, Discussions, Club Events, Boating.
If these promised "tools" don't become more effective soon I am afraid more and more of SL will move to groups of like minded individuals in closed communities. Gone will be the days of roaming and getting to know more about each other. No longer will humans, fae, cyborg, dragons, furries, vamp, etc. freely get to know each other.
I am glad that I made it in right before the CC authorization changes. I am doing my best not to jump to instant judgement of people and still remain optimistic and helpful. I really fear for the experience newbies will get. I sincerely hope that this is just a dim spot in SLs progress to a brighter future. *keeping my fingers crossed and my eyes open.*

Well before I wrote my first response, I did a quick look up on wikipedia, and the topic starter's name has connotations to furry sexuality. Personally, I'm a vegetarian and an animal lover, and the thought of you people wanting to have sex with animals, no matter who you want to pretend you are, is disgusting.

Set, it's probably fine at SomethingAwful, but not here; before you speak from a position of *absolute* ignorance it might behoove you to learn more to prevent further cases of foot-in-mouth.

Pol, I don't get bringing up the martini thing. It's not like I want to fuck animals. Nazis had philosophies, too, but that doesn't vindicate them.

First and foremost, not every member in either of those groups griefs fur sims. If you're going to profile based solely on group membership, then you have absolutely no right to complain when an anti-furry griefs you.
Next, furries are NOT some kind of special Second Life exception to everything. Fur sims get griefed just as much as any other sim because they're popular. Think about how many furry sims there are in comparison to every other type of sim, and then consider how many of those few furry sims happen to be in the top list of popular places in SL. I guarantee if you were to hang out in any other popular non-furry sim, you'd see an equal amount of griefing.
Furry griefers do exist, you know.
I imagine if you got banned from all your furry porn sites, you would throw a tantrum in SL.
As a furry, I'm honestly sick of this griefing drama crap. Griefers harass ANYONE for any reason. Hang around in Sandbox Gougen for an hour and count how many times you get sent into orbit. It's only when people like you start mouthing off and thowing threats that people get pissed off, and then you act all surprised when you get targeted.
Here's a life hint: If someone you don't know does something silly on a street, you don't walk up to them and tell them how stupid they are. If you do, you'll get a punch to the face which you deserve by all means. When you take a game as seriously as you do, you might actually try to encorporate some real common sense into how you behave.
As for LL not caring, that's just about the most selfish thing you can possibly say on these forums. I'll say it again: furries are not the exception to everything in SL. I'm sure LL has to deal with an exponentially larger amount of reports from humans than furries, so what makes you so special that you deserve to have your report prioritized? Are you actually that blind as to what happens elsewhere in SL? Maybe if you actually traveled outside of your furry sims for a bit, you'd experience just as much griefing anywhere else that has people in it. If you don't, well then it looks like you've found a solution to your griefing problem.
You are a Second Life user the same as anyone else. You have griefing problems? Get in line.
To anti-furry trolls: Yes, we all love to have sexual relationships with animals. Go obsess over something that matters and has an actual influence on your lifestyle.
