Fur sims getting griefed way too much

I am so telling you guys, if a gang of furries went and kicked their ass, they would be so embarrased they would leave u guys alone, that or they would have new found respect for u.. /shrug

My fetish is fat people, and that's not popular enough on SL to where I'm having to worry much about being harrassed--in fact, I've only seen 3 other fat characters in the 2 1/2 days I've been on SL.

As a matter of fact, you're apparently ignorant of about 90% of what it means to be a furry, and the small knowledge that you do seem to have is apparently based on misinformation like that CSI TV episode, that characterized furries as homosexual perverts. Guess what? It was a TV show... not a real life documentary! Classifying anyone who is into furry in the way that you did is about as accurate as stating that all high school students are gun-toting wackos who want to shoot their classmates.

Time for YOU to grow up, and actually try talking to someone who has been a furry for more than the amount of time it takes to get drunk and put on a furry avatar and do some strange stuff just for kicks. Talk to someone who has been a furry for several years, and it just might be an eye-opening experience for you. Yes, believe it or not, there's some pretty deep philosophical sides to it. And then there's art. And not just erotic art, either... To anyone who has actual knowledge of the furry lifestyle, your comments clearly mark you as being ignorant of a large amount of what 'furry' is all about.

And no, it is NOT OK to make fun of people in SL who are different than what you consider 'normal'. Try reading the Terms of Service for SL. The part where it says that you're supposed to be tolerant of others beliefs?

That's an SL issue as a whole, not a furry issue. My advice stands, even for that as well. Report, and go along your business. I'm aslo a fan of plain old sitting (where applicable).

I think there's this problem right now with a lot of people who like to discuss what 'being a furry means!' when it doesn't really mean much of anything and is so highly subjective as to be laughable. It's a fucking metagenre. People do all sorts of crazy shit, normal shit and totally, astoundingly boring shit under the same banner.

For every five people in this thread who says 'Furries aren't about beastility!' there's going to be someone who it certainly is about that to them. If you don't think that's the case, you're free to google and hunt them down -- they're not exactly hiding.

Calling someone ignorant because that's their mental association (and not an uncommon one, at that, mind you -- lots of people have responded similarly) is not going to endear anyone to any other viewpoint.

Being that Phillip, the head of Linden Labs, has been known to use a female avatar with some really pretty dresses and many Lindens have furry avatars and even include free ones in the library... I don't think Linden Labs has any problem taking us seriously. In fact, several recent changes to the estate management tools were requested from Furnation Administration. Some of Linden Lab's most knowledgeable residents have helped solve problems in the game and are furry tp boot.

Don't worry, just as you hate furrys now, in time you will own a furry avatar.
