Rolling Restart to deploy 1.27.1

I would say that my business is off today by more than a half, but the last time I said that on a rolling restart day I was informed that I was wrong, and that in-world business was actually much better on a restart day. So if I can always tell that a restart has happened by checking my sales, as I just did today, I guess I must be crazy.

So, when's the next one?

Tomorrow morning, to get 1.27.1 onto the last half of the grid.

I bet you could get them to mow your lawn as well. [smirk]

Are you kidding? They would sub-contract to some company using 1950s push mowers and charge more then the price of a new ride-on.

It will be tested and finalized before we deploy, but that doesn't mean we can't make an educated guess about when that finalization will happen and try to schedule accordingly. If, in the end, we don't have something tested by the time we're supposed to deploy it, we would presumably delay the release or remove the untested code. Announcing our intended schedule is an effort to give advanced notice to residents so they can plan around our work as best as possible.

also there is the problem of "codespace" for each possible event is so huge that sometimes
you won't find a problem until its on the live grid.

how many bug fixes had 14-16 step repros with narrow steps each time??

can not upload, can not upload, x5 blue pop ups. can not replace clothing as pop confirms issue getting data. can cross over the sim to the old sever code and get it all. seems this version is not playing nice with the asset servers

John you need to address the issues with BT and you need to do so now. There are thousands of people relying on those forums and you've done jack, you haven't even logged on in since Sept of 08.

I've sent emails, I've pmed you in 2nd Life, and I'd call every 10 minutes but you were smart enough to not give me your #

That was actually the result of a problem on that host, which I've fixed. Thanks for mentioning it.

That looks like a bug. We'll look into a work-around tomorrow. Thanks for bringing it up.

I have the same experience with search; nothing seems to have been changed/fixed. You have to recognize that this is a show stopper for almost anyone not currently on the front page of "any" results, cheating or otherwise.

Search - Places and Server 1.27.1
07-30-2009 10:21
As reported by a few others on this forum, I too am having a problem with the Search - Places not showing any results for any of the sub-catagories. This problem originated on July 16th when server 1.27 first rolled out. Since that time I have noticed a 30 to 40 percent drop in my business, as have other merchants I have talked too.

I have tried the Search - Places on three sims with 1.27 using two different av's and three different releases. I even reset my sim. All of my attempts have met with the same result.

This is a major problem since most business owners pay for their tier with the proceeds from their businesses. No business means no income. No income means no tier. No tier means lost sims. If this is not repaired soon, I will probably have to give up one of my sims. I have talked to others who are considering the same thing.

This bug is seriously impacting sales in-world and should have priority attention.

My home sim, Samhain, seems to have been updated to 127.1 this morning - on logging on both me and my partner got about a dozen "failed to upload" messages. If I try to change clothes I get upload errors - but the new clothes do go on.

It should be fixed now. That was a host problem.

Cant log in says DNS could not resolve the host name.

Atlantic Shores
07-30-2009 11:58
The Atlantic Shores sim was working just fine until today's restart. Now that it is back up the lag is so bad that you can't hardly walk let alone interact with anything. Can someone do something about this?

DNS problems
07-30-2009 12:03
It's not a DNS problem on our end, from what I can see, but we did see a slight dip in the number of users that were logged in. So far, people that are reporting the problem that have identified their country are all in the UK. Are any of you all that are reporting the problem outside of the UK?

I started to get constant "server upload" errors while scripting, uploading files, and even while logging in with 1.27.0. I was hoping it was going to clear up with this 1.27.1 update but the error rate is just as bad. Really frustrating!
