A lot of times these kind of long rants from people who are in emotional duress originate in those communities. So I hope you can see where I was coming from in all seriousness. He may have picked this sort of thing up from his peers. Understand now?

I think theres some people using this is an excuse to provide drama and be alarmist.
The OP dislikes the 18+ rule. The purpose of this thread and the previous one is to get it removed.
My guess is he/she has someone who they wish to be with in an online relationship.

As a parent the quickest way to get your kid to start saying irrational things is deny them access to their boyfriend/girlfriend
The second quickest way is to deny them access to their friends.
They will literally say *ANYTHING* at that point.

The difference would be if they actually felt that way or if thats what they were saying to win an argument. Even adults will say some crazy things in order to win their point.
Especially on the internet where you are anonomyous and no one is sitting there to provide a reality check.

And Chris has an excellent point. There are a lot of people who have had life so easy they manfacture their own misery internally.
When I was 19 I was pregnant, I had no choice but to quit school. My boyfriend had gotten back with ex-girlfriend, and my parents weren't talking to me.
I find it totally impossible to believe being upset about access to Second Life is enough to "ruin" someone's life.
