From: Sunni Jewell There are celebrities who use SL? TBH, that never even occurred to me, other than the obvious ones, like Duran Duran, for performing purposes. I don't want to know their SL id's, but it would be kind of cool to know what celebrities use it. I mean....Drew Carey uses SL? I just would never have imagined that celebs actually have the time or desire to engage in a virtual world, but after thinking about it, it makes sense. If I were constantly followed by the paps and their cameras, a world where I could spend some time, anonymously and without the constant pressure, would probably be pretty close to a Utopia. Just please, please, don't tell me that Britney uses it. I think I'd have to bitch slap her and tell her to get her life together. Hmmm....wonder if they suffer through the crashes, etc. I can soooooo see someone like Keifer Sutherland whining on the blog about his constant crashes and lag. (and I'm a huge fan of 24)
EDIT: I do know they've been here for events and performances, and was upset that I had no clue Dean Koontz was going to be on until well after he was. I would have loved to have seen him.....he's one of my favorit authors. OMG, I know, Sunni, I was so upset too, I did however watch it on Youtube, but thats like eating a picture of a pizza, not as satisfying.

I would have loved to have met his Dean avie in SL, though. But I do have a table in my furniture set that has one of his books on it. Well.....in the texture...lol. When I was undecided on furniture....the Dean Koontz book on the coffee table is what cinched the deal.

Wonder if you can get a "virtual autograph", or like the rock stars did in my day, sign your boobs..*grins*, but dont think Dean would go that far....hmmm

I was sort of happy when Lindal pictured me as Harrison Ford. If this is "Guess who the forum regular would be if he or she was famous", then I can't really complain, but please, please not Pauly Shore. Drew Carey is pretty cool, despite being goofy looking, but Pauly Shore is a nightmare. Can I just stick with Harrison Ford?

I remember this, it was about discussing his book Saw an ad where the company that was hosting it in world, were looking for ppl to work it (wa sit ELC?) been awhile anywho, one of the positions was being Dean, he was not really in world, he would be feeding the answers to someone who would then feed the answers to the person running the avatar sad eh? (sorry do not have proof, just have to take my word for it, proof is probably out there somewhere)

yes sad indeed, I was all for working for it and going to meet him, I LOVE his writing too
then I found out that is how it was being handled, I backed away, and left the group, and decided to have nothing to do with it or that company (I keep thinking it was ELC but I could be wrong)
I do use onrez though LOL
I just will not go to any celeb event in game, unless they can prove to me it is indeed the celeb I am seeing/speaking with

From: Yummy Freelunch Wouldnt that be a terrible handicap for a writer, kind of like a football player with a peg leg! The NFL record for the longest field goal ever kicked was held for many years by a guy with only half a foot. He used a special shoe. I can't remember his name, and I haven't the faintest idea why I have that piece of information stuck in my head, but there you go. Maybe he's famous and in SL? His name is Stumpy McGee or FootlessJoe Jackson or something.

From: Yummy Freelunch Forgive my niavity,Ive never been a "groupie" or some star struck person, but it just kind of, well gives me butterflies to think that someone like Drew Carey, or the other famous people on these sites could have came into my store and bought clothes from me. So, has anyone met any of these people, are there MORE celebs walking around in SL, I mean, I know this is a weird question, but look, Im a small town country girl. The most famous person Ive ever met is the owner of the gas station down the road..*smirks* http://geeksugar.com/8080http://blog.wired.com/wiredphotos25/2007/07/wired-photos-25.htmlArtist Robin Wood owns Practical Magick at Serenite. Her website links to her products in SL, but seems to be down atm. There's a small blurb about her at http://www.llewellyn.com/bookstore/author.php?id=14385
