Forgive my niavity,Ive never been a "groupie" or some star struck person, but it just kind of, well gives me butterflies to think that someone like Drew Carey, or the other famous people on these sites could have came into my store and bought clothes from me. So, has anyone met any of these people, are there MORE celebs walking around in SL, I mean, I know this is a weird question, but look, Im a small town country girl. The most famous person Ive ever met is the owner of the gas station down the road..*smirks* http://geeksugar.com/8080http://blog.wired.com/wiredphotos25/2007/07/wired-photos-25.html

From: Yummy Freelunch ooo, Ive always wanted to ask you, how do you make those peanut butter, banana thingies * 2 slices of white bread * 2 tablespoons of smooth peanut butter * 1 small ripe banana mashed * 2 tablespoons butter Spread the peanut butter on one slice of bread and the mashed banana on the other. Press the slices gently together. Melt the butter (or to be truly like me, melt bacon fat!), over low heat in a small frying pan. Place the sandwich in the pan and fry until golden brown on both sides. Eat it with a glass of buttermilk.

I bet there probably are, but I think if I were really famous, I'd be really low key about it. The worst part about being famous has to be actually being famous - everyone bugs you all the time, your every move is recorded and broadcast all over the world, etc. SL would be a nice way to just be a normal person. You could have friends who just like you for who you are, not because you're rich or you're that guy from that show on tv. You could just relax and be yourself without having to watch every step.
Tell you what - I'll pretend to be someone famous and I'll buy some of your stuff. Who do you want me to be? I've always liked Nicholas Cage - can I be him?

*Laughs* One of my Pets is certain that I must be a celebrity in RL life, simply because I am so protective of my RL information... Does that count?
Having met quite a few RL celebrities, at least one Millionare, and numerous politicians and other noteworthy people in RL, I have to say I really don't care if someone I meet in SL is a Countess or a truck driver or a popular musician or a school teacher in RL. Just doesn't matter to me.

Note to self: If you're around Yummy, act like Depp, but if Carli shows up, start dropping quotes from Raising Arizona. Edit - Put on battered fedora and leather vest when Lindal shows up.

Who is this Drew Carey you mention? Is that one of your young people's rock and roll singers I hear on the wireless, or a cinematography actor of some kind?

Yes there are very famous people in SL. But outing them would cause them distress, ruin their experience or just send them to an alt in disappointment. Have I got proof? Yeah. But let me put it this way. Treat your friends and loved ones on the grid as celebrities no matter who they are. If it so happens that fame was inflicted upon them in first life, well, then they are your friend first and famous to strangers later. And that's how it should be. Over and out of this thread.

Yesterday, at a club, there was a woman who resembled a particular celeb, whose name was almost the same too. But it's a fair bet that their RL wasn't the actual celeb in question. Real celebs who use SL probably have completely different ID's in-world, unless they are actually giving a virtual live performance. But hey! I like to think of myself as a bit of an SL celebrity and I'm replying to your question!
