Where I"m coming from with the 1 item becomes many in your inv is: Every time I've seen someone wanting Mod clothing, they usually want copy on it to, so if they mess it up. So it's either Mod and copy, or mod and trans, but not full perms, isn't that an invitation to disaster? And for as many people who want Mod clothes, (which almost always requires copy 'in case [wearer] mess it up) there are that many who want trans..and since I don't sell from big vendors, but each outfit is in it's own box, gift vendors are out of the question. And you're saying that if I made all my clothes mod and copy that everyone would keep coming back to buy things from me, even though they now had the ability to just make a copy of that one outfit modify that one outfit to suit their own needs? That someone would be willing to come back and pay 100L each for new outfits, rather than save their lindens and just make another copy of the outfit in their inv, then change it as they need it? Certainly I'm not the only one who did that when money was low and the only income was event prizewinnings. I'm willing to mod clothes on a one-on-one basis, to insure the purchaser get's a good fit. Maybe I should advertise that in my shops. I know you can't please all the people all of the time, but I'm trying to find the happy medium, and I"m beginning to think there isn't one ![]() And as for "it's all about the money", why else would anyone open a business in SL, but to make some Linden?!?!? You think I should just give all of it away for free? Shops aren't free, and neither are uploads. Of course it's all about the money ![]() I buy mod copy for a simple reason. Getting the prim bits to fit can right sometimes requires surgery. Especially when you start mixing outfits. Sometimes I need to shorten pants so my furries digigrade legs dong' have pant flares sticking out of nothing Or getting hats to fit my head and not have hair sticking out all over the place. But really any good outfit I have bought I haven't been able to just mod into a different outfit. changing colors messes up good texture work unless it was made to be tinted, playing with sliders just results in really crappy hem lines unless you have them hidden. And also I have gotten way to much prim stuff ((yes even atachments)) eaten by the asset server to feel good buying no copy stuff unless it is cheep. |

Bryan:
I'll do a fitting with you Monday if that is okay? I would do it now, except in real life, my husband is having seizures and we go to the neurologist to find out the cause. Also, since he cannot drive because of the seizures, I will be stuck in real life all weekend being a chauffer. I'm sorry. I wish I had the time to day to help...I will IM you Monday first thing, and we'll get those shoes to fit, okay? Thanks for understanding. _____________________

Only mens clothing worth buying quality wise (that you cant get for free) is gothy and related clothing. Aside from that a man can walk around in head to toe freebie items and most people wouldn't know the difference. Men do get the shaft on this level in SL I agree. Though men's clothing is lacking compared to ladies, there is a lot of stuff that just isn't modern. Men's modern clothing is, well, lacking in style (IMHO) so, consequently, it translates in game. To a T has some fantastic menswear, so does La Bicyclette, Fuschia Begonia and Alphonso Avalanche have some great pieces, as do Solivar Scarborough (fantastic designer), Nix Sands, Silver Rose Designs, and I know there are many many more out there. Ooh, Suki 's Silks, she does all sorts of items. As I recall they are all mod, these designers. Something that might help is searching more specific items. Men's jeans instead of men's pants, or men's clothing. Good luck! |

Thank you Miles. This has been a rough time for me and my family, the past week. If I've been short or not exactly polite, please forgive me. RL has been stressing me out. At this time, it's just tests, tests and more tests.
Talk to you Monday, Bryan. _____________________

Try this place - Hoorenbeek
01-04-2008 19:32
Hi Carlos,
Here is a place for men's clothing - Hoorenbeek. They kinda of have a Gap feel. They are fairly new so you don't have to worry about seeing the clothes you just bought on every other male. They have some really nice stuff there. I can give the LM in- world. I am sure that you will find something you like there. |

I totally agree that men's clothes are sometimes terrible... but although I found some good freebies out there most of my wardrobe was bought... Hoorenbeek is one of the examples of good quality... Nowadays I have some very good places where I use to go buy so if anyone wants some LM pls send me IM and I'll give you (I'm at work now and I can't login in-world)

Yep, it's difficult to find nice clothes for men, quality ones.
Uhmm, these are the shops I use to go to: ·Bare Rose ·Blaze ·Dutch ·Indigo ·Hoorenbeck ·Last Call (this one is closing, great sales for great clothes!) ·Nyte'N'Day ·Reaction ·Redgrave ·Renegade ·Savvy Avvy ·Zona Cero Uhmmmm I'm sure I'm forgetting some, but that's somewhere to start looking ![]() I'm going to Second Guy Mall in a while too ![]() The worst of men's clothes is that it's difficult to find nice and quality clothes, and... the prices!! _____________________

Isn't their name Armidi?..two whole letters off the Armani name..and when i was in the store i saw no copyright infringement..unless you can copyright a "style".or is there another store actually named armani
~LanaTomba I certainly hope not,,.I liked shopping there..does that mean I can't wear all the clothes and hair i bought from there? ![]() |

Armidi and Armani are two separate stores in SL. Armani in SL is owned by the RL Armani.

I think one problem is the way clothes work in SL. The avatar mesh (non-prim) clothes don't look as good when they aren't skin-tight. In RL, not many men's clothes are worn like this. When women's clothes aren't form-fitting, they are usually skirts... note how non-prim skirts are not so popular. Kelli summed it up, I remember when SL didn't even HAVE flexi-prims...talk about limitations... Instead of capes/cloaks, etc people had trangles on thier backs. Women who wanted original hair had to go with either the "shredded felt fabric" default SL hair, molded into shapes, or ridiculous "coils of plastic" that didn't move, lol When the flexi-prim was introduced, builders went CRAZY. Another thing that makes men's clothes look so bad is that tough to texture, impossible to correctly "scale" seam at the waist. It's almost as much trouble as the ribcage/boobs seam with the female avatar shape ...until there's another big "leap" like when flexi-prims arrived, your best bet is to hit the shops mentioned above _____________________

I'm an up and coming men's clothing creator. I primarly focus on loose fitting, non-metrosexual styles for men. My selection is small at the moment, but I'm working hard to put out a better variety of quality clothing.
