Heres an interesting question for you?

Me and a friend were in a photo studio the other day, my friend was posing, when suddenly another name appeared on her pose stand, the thing rushed past me, so I turned round to see a little girl in a pink dress.

I mean little girl! Quick as a flash I opened her profile, sure enough shes 5 year old, all her picks were all very young teen sites not found on the main grid.

I said hi, and asked what she was doing in the adult grid, "I lost my Mom" came the bleak reply! Seems she was having her picture done at the studio!

Quickly I told her that this is the adult grid, not the junior one, so I said that you should go and relog, so she turns up in the correct grid,
which she promptly did! What i cant understand is how she got into the adult grid in the first place, ok she said she was with her Mom, but surely the age barrier, and her being connected to the junior grid by way of log in would mean she couldnt possibly get in the main grid.

But I was asking myself, can a 5 year old girl understand how to log in and log out?

Any ideas on this strange happening!??

I bet a 5 year old would be capable of logging into Second Life. When my daughter was three she could change tapes in the VCR.

-------------------------------------

Could a 5 year old make a kiddie Av? And converse with people in Second Life?

Heck no.

Its a 5 year old, jeez what are you, loopy?

well yes I understand that, but this girls picks were none that could be found in a search or anywhere, all i found was fairground equipment, but poo bear and loony toons groups for her age to join was not found. Only a a 23 member site for Loony toons was found.

Im sure in the teen grid "loony toon groups" would have more than 23 members!

At any rate, I was not aware that you could make yourself a child avater, It sounds very risky to me, and thought tiny girl/boy skins was only found in the junior grid.

This is an adult grid after all, If this is the case, then that girl if she was 18 plus, should have her "real" legal age by the side of her 5 year old sl name!

Bit confused by all this, finally Im informed you can adopt a child, surely this is not on the main grid?? Unless there was a genuine glitch in sl which caused her to reappear in the main grid, cos as i said, she had no idea she was in the adult grid, thats what im trying to get across here! because as soon as she came out from the studio, and i told her your in the wrong grid, she said oh I didnt know, and she promptly logged off like I suggested.

there are those who roleplay children on the main grid. They are grownups pretending to be children.

I bet you would think it was REALLY strange if you ran into me somewhere.

After all, there is no special grid for dogs. :D

Make sure you put your RL age, in dog years up there.

Profiles should be treated as fiction until proven otherwise.

Anyone can put young oriented sites in their picks.

Five is too young for the teen grid.

Certainly a real world five year old can log on and off to SL.

Okay so I remembered this guy Michaelatv's name - I knew he'd been involved in one of these "Ageplay" complaint threads before.

Here is the thread /327/f4/261572/1.html

It turned out to only be 2 posts by him,

but that thread covers a gambit of things on this issue, largely RL minors access the grid.

But also touches on the "Child Av Porn" issue.

-----------------

So it is probably disingenuous for him to claim he didn't know about this.

Yup.. and all the slutty neko's like me need a "use by" date like cheap beer

Seiously, it's not unheard of that grids get crossed.. just like the people who've logged in to these forums but belong on the teen ones. Very uncommon, but it does happen.. especially on Sunday.

Are you asking if a five year old is capable of using a mouse to click the button that says "Log In"? Yeah, probably.

BTW

There *IS* no grid for Real Life 5 year olds, even if there were a 5 year old of sufficient ability to be able to interact in Second Life.

The teen grid has a minimum RL age of 13 I beleive, there are US laws pertaining to chatting on the internet bellow a certain age.

Definately, my four year old can log in. He can also walk around and use teleports, build boxes and many more things as I have found out ... but no he wouldn't be able to speak to anyone apart from a jumble of letters as can't write yet.

/me now does not leave password remembered having found him logged in early in the morning before I got up.

It's 13 and MySpace is 14, but as I've learned from my almost 13-year-old son, all of his friends have accounts at various online sites that requires them to be at least 13, but they've had the accounts for several years. WoW and RuneQuest comes to mind.

OP, Im sure you have been in SL long enough to know many of us RP children. If not you may not realize that SL isnt RL. I play a five year ol in SL. I was adopted in SL quite a few months ago by a married Neko couple. I have siblings that are fun to be with. Now, in your vast wisdom, am I 5? Should I play by your rules? Hey bubba, be what you want to be in SL and I assure you I certainly be what I want to be.

/me giggles, this reminds me of a story a decade or so ago from people who used a pet forum section of GEnie I think it might have been? Two people received some messages from each other that were gibberish, they figured out afterward their pets had walked across the keyboards and hit the macro key that send the message to their friends! LOL

So could your pet log in to SL? ;) If your screen was up and password in, all they have to step on is it's Enter key, right?

In RL, I receive a fair number of phone calls from my client's babies! :) We all know how much they enjoy ring tones and lights on phones, but it doesn't take much for them to press talk and redial whomever was called last does it?

I have nothing of value to add to this thread

no Im not loopy!
09-27-2008 10:57
No I am not loopy, otherwise I would have not been taken on as manager of a club, or made my own rental apartments or made complicated jewelry.

If you cant answer in a civil manner then i suggest you keep your facetious mouth shut collete!

Further more, havent you all got it into your head yet, that the united Kingdom now
PROHIBITS BY LAW any interaction with adults and supposed children Avs on these virtual worolds, wether there an adult or not, there is no leeway given now, any uk person also found looking into certain areas of second life,(namely Violent acts/degrading/torture) can now be deemed guilty of an offence. Most of you dont have big brother breathing down your necks, so please think of us before passing judgements.

I dont want to be seen with an underage person, even if there allowed because our laws have been tightened up on these type of platforms. many people have been cought just recently by the police, posing as children, and entering these platforms and teen sites, drawing them out and making dates with them , then pouncing on them... so how Do I know if this girl was not an under cover officer.

If you have bothered to read posts from earlier in the year, a lot of uk citizens, including myself have bought to your attention this new law that affects us. thats why we are so jumpy about it.
