Too bloody true! But even so, teh thought of schniffling into the laundry room and seeing some poor maid looking quizitically at me and holding up a pair of those awful socks men wear with Nikes and such is too much for me. I would blench.

And I do keep my room tidy. Which may not be laundering or ironing but it is work. I bet there's many people in sl who have had maids and houseboys do their real laundering and ironing all their lives. I dont see it as wrong coz I am employing people. And they love me. I give boneses also at christmas and birthdays - I hope you do!

Having been in the Navy, I have often heard reference to "alternate" uses for socks employed strictly by men, generally during a long deployment. So, yeah, I agree with you. Not only would the errant sock go the way it came, but I'd be redoing my laundry - in different machines!

I can go further - they call the bathroom in ship "the head" - so now picture if you will these jolly rogers all lined up waiting their turn to wash their socksies and hang them up on a dismal wire by the light of a bulkhead lamp. Aided by the midshipman whose in charge of "the head". Then jubbling back along the gangway to their hammocks and a little self-huggsies or tockling their mates swinging below them.
