From: Joshooah Lovenkraft While on the topic of creepy ... I guess you guys missed Honeybear talking about someone selling used socks on EBay earlier this evening in group chat A girl in my office gets sent socks to wear so they can be sold on eBay. It's more lucrative and less time consuming than SL business. Pep (She's really attractive; the buyer gets a certificate and is listed on a dedicated Facebook site.)

Pep (She's really attractive; the buyer gets a certificate and is listed on a dedicated Facebook site.) Oh yes there is a bit of an underground economy in used clothing sales and people with those fetishes. I have a friend in rl that sells various items on craigslist and it can be fairly lucrative. I'm not sure I'd be telling the people at the office this though

From: Joshooah Lovenkraft Oh that is creepy although I personally really don't understand the thrill of such things in SL .. that's a whole other thread though. Pardon my interjection but I thought this image appropriate at this juncture: That is a "warning" sign taken on a train escalator during my last trip to Japan. Beware chikan! In some cultures, the discussion of upskirt shots deserves an entire entry in some book somewhere.

From: Brann Georgia That woman is an idiot. Instead of standing there weeping she needs to turn around and clock the guy. Agreed. However, in Japan... well, I don't want to derail the thread with socio commentary. But what I found curious was that these signs were only apparent in out of the way train stations, and not the major ones.

"Apple didn't consider the fact that the device could be used for nefarious purposes, with one user saying "putting such devices in Japan" is irresponsible." /me laughs. Somehow I do not believe that Japan's curious behaviours and hobbies was foremost on Apple's mind when producing the Nano. And then there are socks... left out in the cold... unless in stocking form, just aren't sexualized at all.

I checked yesterday.. I'm still wearing the socks I put on 3 years ago. They have a lava texture on them. I hadn't seen 'em since I made some boots and wore them, um, 3 years ago.

From: Scylla Rhiadra I bet you change your socks, though, right? I'm pretty sure that this is a gender thing . . . 'Corse I do. I change my socks once or twice or many times every day depending on what I do. I dont like those old woman's ankle tights - you know what I mean? Make me feel like I'm gonna be a bag lady one day. And I'm kinda wondering about tights - you know even teh coloured ones and cute ones you wear with a miniskirt. I feel like I'm on the edge of the recession when I wear them. Dunno why. Really I'm jeans and shoes straight. I have a thing for shoes but I cant sleep in them. I cant sleep in jeans either - makes me remember when I would crash out when I used to drink after my work. Wham! Out cold. Ugh! God, there was aboslutely NO glamour to me then. My floors are slate and wood and I need something on my feet. Where I spend this part of the year, teh ground gets really really cold. I also tend to fall asleep on a large sofa-futon-scandinavian-divan in my real living space and when I wake up I maybe really cold. High ceilings seemed like a brilliant plan at the time...
