Do you wear socks and underwear in SL?

I think I'm in the minority about always having to wear socks in Second Life, unless I have sandals on, or I'm going barefoot. I'm also a bit of a virtual prude, so I feel somewhat unchaste unless I have on underwear even though no one can see them. Boxer briefs if you must know.

What are your thoughts on wearing socks and undies in SL and under what circumstances?

Women's dresses and skirts usually come with glitch pants/shorts, sort of. I wear those, because they make up the top part of the skirt. I don't wear underwear 'under' those. They ARE underwear, kind of.......aren't they? When wearing pants, no, I don't. lol. Is that a bad thing? I don't own any socks.

Actually, I don't wear socks. I don't think I even own any, but I have lots of stockings and leggings.

I DO wear panties, even under glitch pants. Not for any particular reason: when I put together my outfits, I start with a simple standardized one (bra, panties, slacks, and tee) that includes panties, and the other stuff just goes on top, so that when I save it, the panties get saved as part of the new outfit.

Maybe I've just always liked fun socks even in RL but they can be hard to find in SL. I just found these tonight though at Arai.

The stripes look more like sections of articulated piping. I'd expect you to squeak when you walked wearing these.

Stick to something simple. And rest assured that I've never met a woman who felt the need to inspect a man's socks.

Well, as to socks: I don't go barefoot. (We have to buy toes if we want to go barefoot, don't we? I can't recall...maybe some skins have toes deliniated.)

If I have shoes on, I'll have socks only if it's 'part of the outfit', as in thigh-highs.

As to underwear: Like Scylla, I had some on for the first outfit from which I pretty much made all my other outfits, so there are usually some on, unless that layer is needed for something else (as Treasure mentioned).

If I have a shortish skirt on and fly, I would notice the lack of underwear (due to camera position), even though I don't use, er, 'detailed' skins.

They are cool and I don't care what you say! Winter is coming don't ya know. /me squeaks away.

I generally do wear undergarments, depending on the outfit, available layers and "situation". I like nice lingerie, I have a ton of it in both lives. Unless I'm wearing sandals I usuall am wearing stockings of some sort. I am one of the few RL holdouts it seems that still wears hose on a regular basis as well.

Well, this is the thing, isn't it? A lot of my skirts are, of necessity, prim skirts with glitch pants, but I actually LIKE slider skirts (or whatever we call the ones that you make from a clothing layer). And for those you need panties, or . . .

LOL. Ok I never wear long underwear in RL unless I'm snowboarding or something. I do wear pajamas in SL sometimes though. I think we need to have a cartel PJ parteh.

I only wear underwear in SL if it is going to be visible or partially visible to someone else. Otherwise I don't see the point. Plus I often use the underwear layer for leg tattoos.

Similarly, I don't wear socks unless they are going to be visible either, and it is appropriate for the kind of footwear I have on, e.g. hiking boots with shorts. Again I often use the sock layer for tattoos as well.

I do NOT wear underwear unless its to tempt a man.
