I agree that the Bits and Bobs anims are better paced. One of my difficulties is that it's hard sometimes to find out WHOSE animations are in a particular product. Even the manufacturer might not be sure...I've actually had a reply of "gee, I'm not sure" when I asked one once.

Frankly, some of the ballroom dance anims out there are more erotic, to me, than a lot of the actual sex act animations. It's one of the reasons I love to go dancing in SL. (The other one is, I can't dance worth crap in RL.)

I think there may be more to it than just hopping on poseballs and watching in silence. I wouldn't know of course, because nobody loves me, but I'm just saying, if they did, I'm pretty sure the poseballs wouldn't define the entire experience. Maybe you're doing it wrong. Maybe give it a try.

I think you answered your own question when you noted the size of the sex industry in SL.

You may just as well ask, do people get turned on by an erotic story, or porn, or by going to the strip club, or by having a deep intimate chat with someone? It's all theater of the mind in at the end of the day. And it's only as erotic as you allow it to be.

I'm not a big one on animations. Frequently, they get in the way of a well crafted set of emotes rather than supporting it. That being said, I have made my own HUD (with single sits, couple sits, and erotic animations in it). I also had the Sexgen platinum bed and gave it away to a friend in favor of the deviant bed. Overall, my frustration with Sexgen was it's lack of customization abilities and the animations in it are, bluntly, awful. The Devpose bed, on the other hand, comes with many fewer animations, but those animations are also significantly better. And, most compelling, I can add my own simply. For instance, I've created 3 or 4 poses/animations for my devpose bed and one animation for my spanking horse.

Insofar as best animations, honestly, this is highly over-rated in my mind. There is an essential design problem with animations. If you create a highly detailed one, then it forces the story line along between the two partners. If you create a simple one, then the partnes can fill in the details with the emotes at their own pace, but then many people look at it and say "not sophisticated."

I have some plans around animations that may be very cool in this space, but we'll see. It's in my project list along with 900 other things.

Insofar as hud vs. furniture. Furniture is more convenient in fixed settings such as your house. A HUD is more convenient to be able to do things like snuggle your lover in random locations, assuming you have create object permissions in that random location to spawn poseballs. Non-poseball based couples animations seldom are worth the trouble.

Actually, I'd love to see a HUD that would be:

- Easily Positionable. I have the... cheap HUD, and it's... just that.

- Flexible. I'd need to be able to add my own animations to it painlessly.

- Well-documented. Trying to read the instructions on how to change animations in my current HUD makes little sense to me.

- Few, if any, 'beginning' animations cluttering up the menu. Again, the cheap HUD's premade animations... are awkwardly positioned.


Now, I love, but unfortunately don't exactly respect the creator of, the Multi-Animation Tool. It's all of those above, but unfortunately, it's just not a HUD, and I've already lost quite a bit when a pair of these blocks poofed on me, so these are staying firmly in-world.



So far, the only items I've seen for sale like the HUD I mentioned are the one I bought, and am not very happy with, and a belt that appears aimed at female wearers. As I'm a male feline, I'm not exactly looking to "surprise a(n escorting) client" with anything. I'd... just kinda like being able to go at it with a willing partner when (and where) the mood strikes, ya know?

Umm not the pixels alone no, but the text and interaction with someone whom I have come to know for some time .. umm yes, very much so.
