It might be interesting to see a kitchen with refrigerator doors that work, with stuff in the fridge, stuff that you can take out and set on the counter, and prepare, and pick up and set on the table, or put in the oven, which opens and has a rack inside, and a timer (very quick timer!), and a table you can sit at with place settings....
etc. Running water. Electric can opener. Compressor sound from fridge. Garbage disposal noise. A radio.
Maybe a cookbook, that does different sets of animations and gives out the text of the selected recipe.

I saw a working fridge a while ago, you could open the doors and there was stuff inside, and if I remember correctly, you could even use it. I just can't remember where that was-it was a huge shop that had dozens of complete kitchen and bath outfits.

From: Sling Trebuchet What's the bets that someone in SL is selling a range of sex-cookers? Not to my taste of course. Dishwashers maybe, depending...... but cookers? Nope! There's a vendor on SLExchange selling a Love Kitchen in several different decors.

But the fridges with doors that open are filled with "stuff" on a texture. I've never seen one with things you can remove or add.

I want an ironing board and a washing machine! Then my Second Life will be complete.

From: Anti Antonelli Just depends on what you want out of your SL home. Plenty of people view home as a place to go off and cuddle with their sweeties, so less "cuddle friendly" rooms might seem unnecessary. (The more "acrobatic" varieties of cuddling-related activities, where countertops and large appliances might be welcome, aside. Ahem.) Others want to hang out and entertain friends, so several varied conversation areas are of paramount importance - and maybe room for social games or outdoor activities. Yet others derive pleasure from creating intricate "dollhouse" style replicas of RL homes, or equally intricate fantasy homes down to the smallest detail. It's all good i sell a low prim bathtub in my store that has some cuddles... it's nice to cuddle on various home furnishings/fixtures, in my opinion... hehehe.. and i had SO much fun building the toilet and shower! hehe...anyway if you're low on the prims you can check out lok's low prim furniture (shameful plug, i am so sorry) at any rate i have a bathroom complete with sink, shower, tub, medicine cabinet in my home. i used to have a kitchen but have since removed it. -shrug- i find bathrooms more fun because there are more opportunities for integrating poses/animations etc.

Personally I like building kitchen and bathrooms because of designs. Kitchens can be also conversation spaces. I had one where I had prim cookies and coffee to share with friends while we hung out and talked. I often fantasized about having a casual dinner party or heart to heart talks in the kitchen with my friends. Bathrooms I use for private spaces. I having peeing loft that I thought about having texture testing sauna and place to go when I need to be nude to work on projects. It isn't for business or sexual purposes though. Right now I keep my prim uni-pig in the bathroom to keep me company. I thought about tiny 0.60m cleaning fairy to hang out around the toilet to clean up the urine puddle.

I include the kitchen and bathroom furnishings in all my southwestern home designs. They have a fridge (sorry, it is static and doors do not open), cook-top, oven, spacious countertops, overhead cabinets, a breakfast bar and breakfast bar stools. Bathrooms include vanities with double sinks and a chair, mirrors, toilets, and a huge tub with privacy sliding glass and menu driven tinted windows. They do cost extra prims, but these are 'upscale' homes designed for larger parcels, and I make them optional with the home - you do not have to rez them if you don't want. Best of all, the woodwork of either is controlled by a central texture and color control, so you may change the appearance to any texture or color you want! It was extra work, but I live in them to and have great satisfaction from them

as a rl chef, a kitchen is something i prefer to have in my sl home. they can be a bit primmy if you have espresso machines, bowl mixers, waffle makers, etc, but i normally have my home on a 4096 plot. never had a dunny in my sl home. dont really see a use for one.

saw a cannibal kitchen skybox once. it was pretty warped, poseballs on a spit, in the oven, hanging from meathooks, on a butchers block, etc. From: Lindal Kidd There's a vendor on SLExchange selling a Love Kitchen in several different decors.

I put a kitchen and bathroom in my home build, is just a bath set into the floor though. Toilets etc are just redundant and take too many primitives to built right anyway.
My kitchen comes complete with live-threatening oven and demonic toaster.

I have 3 prim urinal I need to texture map and in past have done entire house with kitchen area under 20 prims so its possible. With sculpties I bet there is a way to do lower prim toilet around 3 to 5 prims just haven't figured out how to do shape and right texturing yet

I have a totally empty fridge, somewhere, in my inventory. I am also (when I can be bothered) making a Smeg retro fridge like the one I own rl. I am still not happy with it and keep tinkering. Course it will not be called Smeg or be enough of a clone of the real thing to fall foul of copyright and also I don't plan to sell or distribute it.

I am so going to suggest some of SuezanneC's ideas to a house builder friend.... and that fridge? that's my next project now.
( has learned far too much about people's real life abuses of household fixtures from this thread... and yet my rl home has a dungeon of sorts =X )
the only toilets I've seen were about 100ft tall and used to annoy neighbors.
as for interesting poses.... don't leave out kitchen/bath countertops, tables, and washing machines...
I personally hate the kitchen, RL and SL (but it's a nice touch)... oddly I'm a pretty good cook

In my apartment above my Egotherapy centre I have a kitchen area and a bathroom, with all the equipment designed by myself. I try to avoid using the bathroom while my RL agent is logged in, but I did catch an intruder sitting on the toilet once. I didn't know what to say!!!

Our home has both a kitchen an bathroom, though neither get used very often. I kinda wish they were.

When I was designing my toilet, I made the mistake to not work it on my sky platform, instead, I was on the ground. Suddenly, somebody walks in and starts testing the toilet while I was working on it! Then, he invites the girlfriend their too, and they continue to test the toilet. I was somewhat annoyed but I didn't tell them to leave. Instead, I made them sit still while I adjust the height and sit positions just right.
