/me shrugs. I wasn't even remotely offended by the comment that was AR'd. I've dealt with far worse inworld.
To the OP: Try Valiant Clothing if you're after board shorts and the like. They have some great casual stuff instore. For jeans, try Desert Moon Clothiers (DMC).

There is a store I like to shop at called Simply Brittney that I noticed has a lot of male hair and a lot of short styles that could be worn by either.
Their stuff is a little "technology old", no fancy alphas and about half isnt' flex (but the flex hairs are clearly marked), but they do have a huge selection and when you buy one, you get like 45 colors (I kid you not) for something like 200L. I mostly wear these for use with sunglasses or Gothy eyelashes, since those look bad with more "modern" alpha hairs.
Oh, and most of the guys I know wear women's jeans. They just get nice ones that aren't too hugger, and are mod.
The best men's selection I have seen quality wise is Muism, but make sure you wallet to FAT!

I like the clothes from Argrace. Alphamale has some nice stuff but the silk shirt is SOOOO overworn... and usually with the collar not adjusted properly. For a retro look... Artilleri (sp?) and Hell Bop have some nice stuff. Hoorenbeek has some nice stuff. The sneakers I like best are from FNKY. I just got an awesome new skin. IM or PM me and I will spill the beans on that one.

From: Ned Easterwood Try Blaze. They don't have a lot of men's wear, but they do have some in the classic style. Nyte'n'Day also has some nice slacks and shirts. And Shiny Things has some men's shoes. Meh; I think Blaze is starting to look dated. They haven't kept up with the general improvement in texture quality, the addition of sculpted collars and cuffs; etc. Even for texture-only stuff without prim attachments I find the overall quality of the stuff is better elsewhere. I used to wear Blaze for my basic dress-shirt and tie (again, talking about my cross-dressing alter-ego Carter here, men's clothes) until I discovered that the ones at SLAB were much nicer.

A Blog of Interest to Men
05-14-2009 07:08
Might I suggest Men's Second Style ( http://www.second-man.com/) for a fair review blog regarding men's attire. My own blog ( http://www.sge-sl.com/elric_anatine/) is more geared towards Victorian / Elegant Goth / Steampunk and likely not as appropriate, but I do have a couple posts regarding the serious lack of socks for men in SL. Do take my blog with a few grains of salt. But yes, men receive the shaft in SL when it comes to clothing and accessories. However, it's greatly improved in the last year or so. When I arrived here I contemplated just running around naked but feared being regarded as an idiot noob instead of a frustrated gentleman. Good luck.

Here are some of my suggestions:
Two really good malls to look at: KMADD (probably the biggest and best male fashion mall on the grid) Le Look (another really good one)
Hair: MADesigns, Uncleweb, Armidi, Tammy McCoy (not sure if that's the name of her shop, and I don't know if I got her name right)
Clothes: Redgrave, WMD, FORM, Artilleri, Renegade, Hoorenbeek, Armidi, Alphamale, Valiant, Action Skate&Surf (sp?)
Accessories: Sinistyle, C.H.A.O.S. (there are to many to list in this category, but those are my two favs)
I'm sure I'm missing many really good vendors. You just have to look around.

From: Jackie Silverfall Has anyone else noticed the lack of really good accessories for male av's compared to female? I never had any problem finding attractive clothes, skins, hair, shoes etc. for my female form, but now I'm have a huge problem finding clothes that look realistic. Several people pointed me to spots for hair but I ended up just going to xstreetsl and found a no-name piece. There seems to be a definite lack of selection for male avs. Is there al LL Bean Mens Store somewhere? Am I looking in the wrong places, or is this a case of inequality of the sexes? Thanks. Jackie There is definately a limited selection of men's clothing, especially for anyone using anything other than a default avatar size. This could be mostly demand driven though...

From: Cato Badger 1. Intolerance Combating intolerance is a cornerstone of Second Life's Community Standards. Actions that marginalize, belittle, or defame individuals or groups inhibit the satisfying exchange of ideas and diminish the Second Life community as whole. The use of derogatory or demeaning language or images in reference to another Resident's race, ethnicity, gender, religion, or sexual orientation is never allowed in Second Life. Moderators will decide whether the post is intolerant. Your opinions are not relevant to the topic. Desist or be ARd yourself. AR'ed for trolling and flame baiting. You do *not* need to state you are reporting a post for checking, to do so is just trolling and the attempt at causing controversy. If you wish to be the forum police, fine - report away, do not attempt to enflame the forums to the point that they become unusable.

That's true, I did put effort into finding something to wear, but once I did that was it. I have my boots, jeans and a coat of which the top got left on under the t-shirt and that's it. I spend on other stuff mainly.

If you wish to be the forum police, fine - report away, do not attempt to enflame the forums to the point that they become unusable. I post that I am reporting a post because I want the poster and other readers to realise what he/she has done wrong. If LL believe that I should not do so then they will obviously inform me. Until they do, rather than respond to my posts, perhaps posters should concentrate on the issues raised in the forums and recognise when their behavior transgresses the ToS/Guidelines so that they can self-moderate it in furture. If posters remain PG, then I won't have cause to post.

Wow, and I thought the SL forums were boring. I guess I was wrong.
As for men's clothing, what about Robin (Sojourner) Wood? Ned picked up some nice shirts there the other night and I liked the jeans she had. They were decently priced too. I think the fat packs were somewhere in the 250-300L range.

Guys are supposed to wear clothing? (O.o)
I always figured a thong and a collar would be just fine. No need to decorate your male any further. =^-^=

But how is this post relevant to the topic of comparing the selection of women's and men's clothing options in SL? Should this post be ARed for being off topic? Should my reply? Tune in next week for the stunning conclusion of 'As The Troll Burns'....

From: Alexander Harbrough You are displaying intollerant behavior... just thought I would point that out How can my behavior be intolerant when I am just following the instructions of LL who own these forums and dictate how they should be used? I am not intolerant because I neither endorse nor condemn the standards they impose, nor the morality of those who transgress. From: Amaranthim Talon I bought some casual sweaters and jeans for xmas for Damien- he will have the name of it- I will ask if he does not come in on his own. Very realistic and fashionable. I will have to look and see where they came from. DE Designs has some good things, and if Little Rebel is still open they are good too.
