Once you have the spreadsheet, you can create your chart by plotting the sales figures into the axis- Excel practically does it for you- here is a really easy to follow explanation on how to: http://spreadsheets.about.com/od/c/g/chart_wiz_def.htm

I just get a blank square Mine is a mock up - my sales are non-existent but- one you have the figures down loaded- click the the graph looking icon on the tool bar and it will ask you to plot the axis- then title and you should have a chart - you just choose how u want it to display._____________________

Is it the chart function is not working for you at all? or you are not getting a good download from the site?

Respectfully, Gary, hit F1 in Excel and read the help for charts. It will explain it.

Respectfully, Gary, it is not excel, it's you.
If all you want to see is the total across one month, put in one month's data on one sheet, and then use the formula =sum(A1:A31) in the cell that calculates your totals. A1 and A31 are your row and column numbers. Put in your own. If you want a chart, read the help. It is more complex. _____________________

Excel is not hard to use. All the frequently used things (sums, charts, tables, formulas, etc.) all have wizards. Mouse over the buttons to see what they do and read the help as appropriate.

excel doesnt recognise the date format. so that doesn't work. and when i put the number into the other axis it says that it's limited to 255 values?
hey guess what, if i was great at excel then i wouldn't have come on here to ask about it.. saying that it's me is bloody obvious. well done. if you have not help other than to state the obvious, then with all respect, don't bother to reply. |

At the top, select "Insert". Chart should be listed.
From there you have to assign the rows/columns you want to track. Just follow the dialog box. It'll walk you thru it. You might have to change the date format if it doesnt recognize it. Yea, I know its a pain in the ass. _____________________

You insinuated that Excel did not 'excel' at the easy things, when it does. Do not come here and bitch about the program when it's you.

I would hate for this to become another fighting thread. ![]() Excell is rather easy once you go through some tutorials, helped me a bunch. _____________________
