We know different! I fear that we are in a crisis of puritanism in the most real sense of teh word. In my real world I was actually verbally attacked by a self-proclaimed "Jesus Freak" today (Her words to describe herself - not mine) who lambasted me and what I perform in a most upsetting way. I only halted her moral tirade by telling her that I was actually Jewish. She left the building.

I am just so - arrgh I could spit! I come home and relax on sl and see all this moral behaviour, holier than thou, threads on teens and threads on sex - whycant we just enjoy what Lindens have created and besides teh obvious taboos, well just masturbate or wank or jack-off to your heart's content.

As Brenda kinda puts it, having sex with yourself on a hot/cold afternoon is a healthy pastime.

If that is what you want in your SL great but not everyone does.
I tried, it sucked and not in good way.
There is nothing like ruining your fun going home with guy and in middle
of act having him creepily discuss talking about sexual age play or worse.
Or numerous other activities that sort of would possibly ruin the experience.
If I want to jerk off, I can just do it. I need SL for that. I don't need some annoying selfish avatar who has different ideas then I what is hot and doesn't seem to even consider I may be interested in same things as exciting.

Most RL sex is healthy and natural and SL sex, even in its less socially acceptable forms, is completely safe (after all, which would you rather have a 40-year-old man who has virtual sex with another 40-year-old man in a child avatar's body, or a 40-year-old man who uses a RL child for RL sex).

And what PO's me most about this silly, 21st century puritan rehash is that in the paragraphs above the condemnation of SL sex, is total acceptance of corporate giants coming into SL to exploit a market. In RL these corporate giants outsouce good jobs in developed countries, to take advantage of poor and often uneducated people, who will accept a lesser wage, with no protections for their life or health at the worksite. These corporations play with people's life savings in the stock market and look for loopholes to deny sick people coverage that they've paid into for years in case they got sick down the road. These corporations support dictators who give them price breaks to set up shop in their countries, all on the backs of the oppressed people who pay that bill with their ecology and their children's labor.

But it's the pornographers in a virtual world who represent true evil in the world?

I am not sure who that is "Dostoievski" or if it is insult or not but everyone
has different realities some aren't "jolly" and material for sex positive site
that makes money selling sex and it isn't always good and fun I guess.
Either way no one else really cares but as long as their is people say how
everything is wonderful I feel it is compelled to smash the reality it isn't always
fun, games and nothing ever bad happens for some darn reason.
Truth is SL sex isn't glamorous or exciting, it can be down right creepy sometimes, often full of either laggy free sex club or similar with a bunch of really boring and people doing really bad porn.
I personally find majority who spend too much time on really their pixel appearance, shallow conversations, really ugly animations that look like they are being impaled in horror novel more then in sexual romp and it's there right if they find that sexual appealing but they don't speak for everyone.
It just as awful for majority in RL too or they wouldn't be looking for it here by their
lonesome.
It wouldn't be a selling point in SL, or online if people had loving, exciting, intimate relationships that were fulfilling in their offline lives.
Let face it the sex in SL, online and sometime real life often is just about money, hormonal urges, finding excitement and feeding the addictions of sex addicts and very lonely, sexually desperate individuals who desperately want people to care or distract them from their miserable lives on mass scale.
People with fulfilling intimate real lives wouldn't waste their time doing it here or
pursuing sexual intimate relationships online if they had it their first lives.
I am saying this out of experience with these things.
Maybe it isn't everyone else's experience but I believe personally it is majority.
I am not saying people should stop doing this if it helps them get through their
life but I bet it is fact for lot of people here.
If people didn't find others misbehaving sexually entertaining it wouldn't be in the media either.
And it isn't always a fun "fact".
Truthfully I don't care what others do as long it doesn't make my life more difficult then it already is or they are determine to promote idea that doesn't apply for everyone.
My reality this is what I see, it may not be everyone else's reality.
I just don't want people to assume that everyone here who ever dressed in child avatar was wanting to do sexual age play.

they really wanted to find it just go hang out at free sex place or just explore SL long enough.

if he really wanted to do a story about the real SL he would have done one..
He would have gotten a guide to take him around showing all there is to it instead of making it seem like they happened right into the pit of sex..

Here we have another UK newspaper intent on giving misleading information to the general public. Interestingly I joined another Platform called IMVU recently, in some ways it resembles sl, but in other ways is does not. But what it does have, is adult items, and some profiles are only for 18+ viewing, which u have to pay a pass for.

But what fascinated me was the number of girls who became friends or buddies, saying in there profiles there were 25, when in fact, most of them admited to me that were just 16!
really IMVU is a fantasy world as well, which has boats planes as rooms, adult clubs, awash with sex as well if u so wish, so why do the press seem intent on picking on SL, and no other platform?

But the old adage of "Dont believe everything u see in newspapers" holds fast still, and recent climb downs, irresponsible reporting on the maddeleine Mcgann Disappearance, and newspapers having to admit they had no proof of others involved in the above case, has cost them dearly in monetary and believabilty that any of there stories have foundation.

Poeple are now taking a lot of these sensation seeking stories with a pinch of salt, surprisingly we brits arent stupid enough to believe them any longer.

What I would say is that newbies seem to cause the biggest problem lately, flying around PG areas or going in clubs stark naked, even with appendages hanging , accosting all and sundry trying to have sex as soon as they leave orientation island.

As a thought, newbies cant get buy L$ until they are a number certain few weeks in sl. Why not restrict newbies in some way from visiting bdsm or sex islands, until they have visited normal activity zones, such as Malls, gorgeous islands, Airport and Boat yards, and perhaps Role play continents like NOR which i belong too, where comradeship, supporting your clan, and having fun battling enemies is far away the best way to introduce newbies. Reporters who join sl looking for smut, will have to do go through the same process, meaning they will have to see the good parts of sl before making irresponsible judjments on first visits.

For my part, I now just passed my Rezz day, and my time in SL is mostly taken up with my Roleplay, and technical toys like a mega yacht, which im building an actual gas turbine engine , complete with rotating props. I left the sexual part of sl many months ago now, to concentrate on being a contributor wether its by building some jewelry, or helping my fellow clan members when they fallen!
