Hi Jig Im sorry to hear the problems youve had. There seems to be a small clique of trolls on these forums namely Oryx Temple, Alicia Sautereau, Collette Meji, Bradley Braken, Raymond Figtree and several others who find pleasure in bullying , dictating, hijacking and basically annoying people. If you look through many threads its always these people who do it. These types of people create an atmosphere in forums that is very negative and unpleasant. Its best to ignore them as they are usually weak pathetic lonely people hiding behind their computer keyboards desperately trying to seek attention. Its just a pity they have to do it in such a negative way but hey thats trolls for you. Hope you find somewhere better. Best of luck :)

Nice alt account post. Grow a set of balls and take on your enemies with your main account, coward.

Ah. The old forums are back. That took less than 2 weeks!

Okay, I would like to point out a couple of things about your post:

1. It's woefully inaccurate

AND

2. It's woefully inaccurate

Just sayin....

How did I not get named? I piss off just as many people as anyone else on these forums.

Ray, Bradley and Oryx are trolls and I am not? Something is not right with this picture.

I've never quite understood the whole anti-clique thing. Sure, it can be a bad thing when people are insular and hostile to newcomers, but I don't see that in this forum at all. In fact the people named in that list all seem to be extremely nice people who go out of their way to be welcoming and helpful to new folks. It can be a little intimidating feeling like the new guy when everyone else seems to know each other, but that's an internal thing, not something imposed on people from the outside. Why some people react with hostility towards others for the crime of knowing and liking each other is beyond me. "Those inside jokes are about ME, aren't they?! AREN'T THEY?!!" :p

Some people are just Professional Outsiders, rebels for the sake of rebelling. It's hard to break into any group, yes. But it takes some effort on both sides. The people mentioned are some of the most helpful, knowledgeable anfd funniest people here, each of them I consider friends. I know they are the last people who would be mean and ostracizing.

Not everyone is so resilient.

And for the record I am not talking about myself here. Anyone who actually knows me knows full well I have zero issues saying what I think.

I still want to know what this so-called bullying is.

I thought that because she was pointing out the friendliest bunch, she was just being funny.
This can't be a serious post...

No, Isabeau, that means you're in the clique!

Cristalle it is often a matter of perception and the way that intonation is lacking in text.

For example, the other day I could have taken offence when you posted asking "would you really want it discussed here" about a post I'd said I had not even opened (i.e. agreeing in MY post that I didn't think it was a discussion for RA either). I am 99.99999999999% sure you didn't mean ANYTHING nasty towards me personally in your post, I read it ... read it again and thought "She misread what I put, I think" and then posted back to clarify.

No harm done.

However, as I have said elsewhere, not everyone IS so resilient and there seems to be a high number of people who will NOT post here in case someone leaps on them. Yes, the net is cut throat and this Forum is relatively tame. Not everyone is hard boiled with years and years of IRC ops, flame wars and political bitching and those people might well feel slighted if they are not used to it.

There was one occasion where I posted up a slightly sad-nostalgic post about people missing shortly after my dad died. One troll took it on himself to attack me and keep attacking me despite not even understanding what I had said and in my rather less than usual robustness that did upset me. That being said, he was still way too chickenshit to come say it to my face.

All a matter of perception where people feel ganged up on - people here DO band together against anyone who says anything to one of the "gang" ...

I am not one of the gang, so I speak for myself and myself only, with pride.

I do understand that, Cherry, but for this specific example - what, exactly would have been the nature of the offense? Where would you have perceived it to be personal? Is merely echoing a point being perceived as making you feel stupid? What was nasty about the question I asked? It floors me that the post could have been perceived as "bullying" in any way, especially when we were agreeing with each other about something.

Considering that very few people make anything personal here, I am astounded. Truly. Especially at the allegation launched at Oryx or Raymond. The anti-campers and the anti-banline people must be some real hellions.

Since body language and intonation make-up over 90% of all communication, I think many people will fill in the blanks with there own imagination, and also maybe, there own issues. Sometimes, I must admit, the funniest threads are the ones where everyone seems to disagree, when the opposite is true. We are all reading and writing/ blind and deaf to each other here. Kind of incredible how we (mostly) still understand one another. :D

It helps if you try to maintain some sense of humor and ultimately don't take this forum, or any of us in it, too seriously.

Nooo that was ENTIRELY my point, there was nothing nasty in that but yes it could have made me feel stupid ... as it was I didn't think either of us were stupid. This is what I meant ... I was illustrating that my perception and your perception was one thing, but some people are not equipped to filter such things immediately.

Hell there's been enough of my posts where people think I was having a pop at them when I wasn't.

There are people who post here I'd log off and never play again rather than spend 2 minutes with, I just don't engage with their posts personally. As is the case for most people on the net who are used to far more "challenging" places and people.

I am disappointed. Am I not bitchy enough about grammar? I thought that would warrant inclusion in the troll group. And if someone names people as trolls they could at least try to spell the names properly. ;)

And Raymond can't be a troll anyway, he's a hamster. Land hamster. Hehe.

Dang, start over again...at least I finally made it into that hypothetical Evil Coder Clique That Ruins JIRA, courtesy of appointment by Ms Prok. N.....even after repeatedly stating I am not a coder.

We should start a new group and call it Forum Trolls - let's see what the real membership is ;)

Oh, wait...that would be another clique, wouldn't it?

At least the membership standards would be low enough that damn near everybody will qualify at some point.
