From: Gomez Bracken So was I until I logged in today to find one of the Land Barons that managed to get a swap, now selling the entire (untouched) sim for L$1,000,000 (>L$15 sqm)
Can anyone tell me how LL can justify allowing that person to swap land in the first place??
The AV that asked for the swap should be banned and the Linden that allowed it severely disciplined - as far as I'm concered it's fraud - L$1,000,000 in RL money is over $3,500.
Gomez Sad to say - a number of us called it months ago. Blondin Linden's reply was that this practice of land-flipping was perfectly acceptable.

Which is correct, but it shouldn't be happening until after the auctions, the people moving now should want to use the land but what gets me about this sort of land flipping is that not only is it questionable whether they should have got the move in the first place, they're completely abusing the situation in terms of tier as tier isn't being accounted for, for a couple of weeks, or did LL do away with that grace period?

The grace period seems to be working. I bought my Zindra parcel for a group that had no spare tier, it worked, and didn't increment the land used by the group. I suppose there's some mechanism that turns on accounting for that land again after the grace period is over.

So basically all of us other tier payers are subsidising people being able to claim land in Zindra, sell it for a huge profit and not have to pay a penny. Well ain't that grand.

Well ain't that grand. Yes, and for that matter they can also sell their original parcels that were "traded" as well and it's all profit. Particularily cool for someone like Cheddar that sells land in the first place.
