The Catholic Church took a thousand years to really warm up and get going. Given that the Church of Scientology have managed to work up to it within a couple of decades, imagine where they'll be a thousand years down the lane. Even Xenu won't be able to save us.

Ultimately though, what it boils down to is that the Scientology exists so Ron Hubbard could dodge taxes on his works of fiction by calling them "articles of faith". It's a clever scam, and I have nothing but respect for his genius in getting away with it.

I'm not sure where you get "police killing someone under orders from the church" from. That sounds suspisciously like you're setting up a straw man argument. In civilised countries though the police are expected to avoid conflicts of interest by not moonlighting on the side. If you think that a democracy that allows that is healthy, then more power to you. I for one would be uncomfortable living in such a society.

As for the mention of Scientology by someone - the Church of Scientology have killed people, the bribe politicians and police officers in the town of Clearwater. On the day when Anonymous protested outside their buildings all over the world (I was there at the London protest - it was a good day out in the fresh air, and the weather was nice) they hired off duty police officers as security guards at their Clearwater offices. Off duty police officers. Let that sink in. They paid police officers to be their private security guards. The Church of Scientology are a pernicious cancer. I'll certainly shed no tear for them and their DNOS.

I think you're a bit confused. SL isn't real life. The mere fact that someone finds it amusing to annoy you in a video game doesn't mean they necessarily want to kick your ass in real life. You're assuming that these people want to be criminals in real life, when in truth they're just having fun playing a video game. They, atleast, are able to separate SL from RL and probably operate perfectly normally in everyday society. Although I've never griefed, I can see why it would be fun - even though I could kick your ass in real life too.

Indeed. There's also a word for the sort of person who antagonizes other people that he knows can't retaliate or defend themselves, but it escapes me at the moment.
