that's not true. it's possible to spoof your mac address a zillion different ways in all of five minutes and use LINDEN LAB'S client to acces the grid after being permabanned (or more precisely IP banned). no one needs to "hack" the client. The LONGEST part of those five minutes is rebooting ur cable modem.

well i am not a griefer, though i have been ared as such by a few tards. from what i gather that may be mentioned in answer to a general rant such as ur own.

I'd say, dumb fun. A guilty pleasure. Kinda like watching a bug zapper. Sure, you're watching the morbid execution of dozens of little lives... but.... "Hurrr!! therr goes a nuthrr wun!" (^_^)y

Unfortunately, you're right. The only possible curb is to remove the ability of the griefers to access the grid without permission to do so.

One very simple and important way of doing this would be to eliminate the ability to create new unverified accounts. Existing ones would be grandfathered in in this scheme - those who use their accounts for griefing would eventually be winnowed out, leaving only the people who behave themselves.

If a griefer had to use real ID to get into SL, even if they had to steal it each time, it would probably end most of the heavy griefing we've been seeing over the past year and a half since they started letting unverifieds in to boost their traffic numbers.

Griefers are people too. (=_=)

my ego's quite fine actually. I own a sim with nothing but positive reactions to the builds. Youll notice in my prev posts that I use this forum mostly for issues pertaining to that. You'll also see that I dont plug my sim or myself nearly 1/10th of what the average avatar does in here, so your idea of me wanting attention is a little far-fetched, i'm afraid.

my pants arent wet, and my 'point' was getting a load off my chest. I did so, and have moved on without the need for griefing anyone for "lulz".
