I have no idea who did what to whom, and I stopped reading around page 3.
But I do have something to say (oh come on, why is anyone looking surprised?)
Head games with alts suck. There are many legitimate, and even fun and harmless, reasons for creating alts. But using them to play head games with others may be the cardinal sin of virtual worlds.
Aside from the immediate pain and anguish such games cause the victim(s), there is a subtle and long-lasting fallout: trust pollution. Each time this sin is committed, every victim, and everyone who knows about it, is just a little more wary, a little less inclined to trust the next person they meet. Is the new acquaintance genuine? Or another one of <insert name here's> alts? The very situation that the OP described. It is an insidious, creeping plague that affects the virtual society at all levels.
Think about that the next time you contemplate making an alt to play a joke on someone, or to discredit someone, or to get revenge on someone.
I use alts, and so I have experienced the temptation to stay "under cover" and play with my friends a little. But I make it a rule always to tell anyone I meet who knows me, "Hey, I am Lindal's alt".
I Mute anyone I catch playing alt head games with me. I ban them from any property I own. Immediate, no argument, no appeal. More than that: They go on my List. I have found, like the late Robert A, Heinlein, that my List is highly effective. Like him, I never do anything to those unfortunate enough to be on it. But it is amazing how many of them drop off the List in short order. Illness, accident, misfortune, death...they come quickly.
It's not a long List. Those on it know who they are.

This one started as an alt, but I dropped my original main, it's just a mule (as known by MMORPG players for holding things) because of the personal attacks against me. anyone who knows Me me, knows exactly who I am. but to the point where it was either get another alt or leave SL, wish I could transfer all the stuff I have on it to this one, but sadly non-transfer stuff is unable, so I keeop the other as a mule.
Personal crap is done, I just watch where I use voice, since they know my rl voice. other than that, I live in SL much better because of my alt. (which is now main)
