I don't think locking threads is a good thing either in most cases.

One feature I would love to see added would be an automatic lock down of threads that have reached a certain age - 1 month, 3 months, 6 months - whatever. Necroposting is usually done by newbies to the forums and almost always would have been best if a new thread was created.

On the other hand I often see newbies being bitched at for NOT searching for their answers before making a new thread. Maybe they find an old thread and post to it for more clarification...

Personally, I would rather see necroposting. It makes it easier to search for relevant threads instead of wading through 20,000 similar ones from different dates. JMO.

I didn't put you on ignore because of this particular thread. You got there because you are so darn GRUMPY. Almost everything you post is a grumble or a sneer or an acidic comment. You do it sufficiently well that it gets under my skin and makes me itch to argue with you. I do enough arguing as it is, and so I ignore you to keep from cluttering up more threads with pointless bickering.

You nailed it. I'm sure some people put others on ignore because their feelings are hurt, but I'm sure that's very small. Most likely do it because the poster never has anything interesting or productive to say. I have only two on ignore, one for his constant whining and bitching and one for his nonsensical 'tard posts. They each are in excellent company.

Sure I could scroll down past a thread, but if it's someone who I think has never contributed in any way and don't expect that to change, why would I bother? It's easier to scroll past when the ignore button is hit.

Something I have never done. I don't understand those that do. Not everyone is familiar with how forums operate. The worst part is so many people give their threads useless titles that it can sometimes be impossible to find what you want.

I'd almost bet you that 75% of the time it's simply a new comment regarding the topic. For those that need clarification I still think it'd be better to start a new thread.

I wish they'd merge threads on the same topic, but we'd probably need an actual moderator pool to keep on top of that.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Would a 100,000 post thread on "Is it Cheating?" really be helpful? :D

lol, I wouldn't expect them to backtrack, but we've had four threads so far today on the weird OI inventory folders...things like that could be merged quite easily.

Well I am very disappointed with the ignore feature, used it for the first time today - hard to get to and then you still get to see they posted - I wanted them completely hidden. Oh well! :(

To get quickly to the point. I honestly don't have any grudges or any bad feelings towards anyone here regardless of what's been said in the past. Everyone but Bracken. Him I don't like and there's just no way I can respect this indiviual. Other then him, anything that's been said in the heat of the moment in the past or in the future with others in here doesn't really mean enough to matter. So it's no big deal to me and it shouldn't be to anyone else either.

I'm not being mean when I chime in. I'm blunt when commenting, that I am. I have no patience in dealing with make believe or fairy tale endings. I don't feel I need to beat around the bush or act like a goody two-shoes to respond to comments made or when issuing my own. Regardless of how wrong my views may seem to others. I won't fake it, I just won't. It is what it is.

They say it's pessimism, maybe it is. But I deal in reality on my job and in my life and reality isn't always nice. Reality is in everything you do. Reality isn't being politically correct for the sake of those around you. And in here it's no different.

Well, the thread on texture theft just got banished to the cornfield - I saw a lock on it and then just as quickly it was gone. Perhaps this thread will go the same way shortly.

I saw it, but then I forgot. Poor memory. Soon, I'll forget there was even a thread at all.

That's what "they" want.

Paranoia creepin' in. :p

I'm wondering though on how the thread could be deleted, if the filth made a complaint why did they also feel entitled to make a post too?

I also wonder if it was because in my post I pointed out that her post was slanderous, one rule for the people who make big money for SL one rule for those who don't?

You shouldn't dare to ask such questions, or you might find yourself deleted too one day. Best to forget, and smile, and go buy more textures. ;)

Well that one was an obvious disappear. Since it mentioned a texture seller, and one of the people that work there was trying damage control.

I definitely have no idea if that texture seller was ever involving in knowing texture theft. So I will assume they weren't and someone just figured they were.
