Also, got very excited when I saw a sign which said Sims £7 each, nearly crashed the car lol.

That certainly would be a good price...

(so what are the real-world Sims, anyway? The little ID cards you put in a mobile phone that has your account info on it?)

Ah...apologies if I put my foot in it, so to speak. (I'd thought it was hyperbole.)

Yes, indeed, laughter is a great help in dealing with these things....

I really didn't have anything unique to add to this until last night.... :p

My sister and I were driving over a bridge in town (we try to walk a couple times a week....this bridge is a 2 mile walk if you go over and back).....anyway...as we were driving over I'm looking at the sky thinking how much prettier the view would have been if I could have just changed the sun position so it was setting over the river......Doh!

I was at a bar with a dance floor and there was this hot woman dancing... I thought "Oh look, there's LittleMe out on the dance floor!" (I've never met her in RL or seen a RL pic of her. Heh.)

It's actually just interesting to see how large is the number of us who have had the same reactions/bleedovers.

(no doubt there are a quite a few potential doctoral dissertations to be made from the common nature of our experiences....)

I Have one! Who made that?

I found myself in the dentist office one day with my daughter and saw this cute table set which I thought would be great for my 2 yr old grandson and I was thinking I should just right click and see who made it.....lol
I would so kill for that feature in real life!

In RL, I have use different names depending on which gender I'm presenting. While I've yet to use my SL name for my male name, I have referred to myself as Kelli while en femme.

I've caught myself wondering while clothes shopping if something is copy or trans before too. I've certainly looked for RL versions of clothes I have in SL, but that's by choice, not by accident (I have some very reasonable facsimiles of my Ziggy ankle boots, but I couldn't find a good saloon girl costume for Halloween without paying a fortune).

Most frequent (me and everyone else, it seems) is trying to use SL cam controls on non-SL apps. Usually Photoshop, especially when editing SL pics, but it can strike any time I'm on a computer looking at a picture.

Well. . .I've had the usual urges. Counting prims. Wanting to map my daughters in a mall. Things like that.

But the best one was the day I ran around the neighborhood naked and did the "butt shake dance" for everyone I met.

I'd have gotten away if they hadn't turned off build and flying.

And once, when I was VERY tired, just before bed, I picked up a (fortunately empty) box off my bed, turned and placed it out of the way but at a convenient height in midair for later access, let go... then looked at it stupidly for several long seconds, trying to figure out why it fell to the floor, because I *knew* I hadn't ticked the box to enable physics on it...

OK, I'm sorry, but I genuinely laughed out loud at that one.

Thanks Brenda, now I have to buy another keyboard :p

Frequently I have thoughts like many others here, about prim counts etc. But they kind of are on purpose, said for amusement.

However, Ghosty is always calling me Elora in RL. Mind you, not once have I called him by his SL name in RL but he frequently uses my SL name for me. I think it's because it's very close to my real name and it just slips off the tongue too easily.

It kind of bothers me at times, that blur between what is real and what isn't since Elora is a heck of a lot hotter than I am - but hey, maybe he sees me in a way I don't see myself and I better keep my mouth shut? Let him have his delusion hehe ;)

I have a big problem of trying to "say" things that make no sense unless you type them.

Like, if someone says something funny, my first response is to say "LOL!".

But you can't say "LOL". Saying the letters L-O-L just sounds stupid.

But, I have found quite a few uses for the word "noob" in RL. That sounds the same whether you type it or say it. :)

My daughter began speaking to me in this manner.. irritating me beyond reason.. So now our conversations are...

WTH, IDK... CRR... DIN... AFK (kitchen) ..LOL.. and whatever else we think of. its kinda a fun game for us trying to figure out what each other is saying.. Actually, its amazing what the teens use and I got a good education.. now I can track her text messages and know what she is saying.. (grins) But as an adult in normal conversations the only one I do use is WTF....

As a parent today you really have to be clever and this is something we have a lot of fun with.. (she even set my phone call screener to IDK for unknown calls lol...)

I had set an alarm clock on my cell phone, and I was laying in bed thinking it should have gone off by now, so I though "Maybe I accidentally put it down somewhere that has scripts disabled."

noob and newbie are not new words by any means.
First time I ever heard them was like 15 years ago when I was in the army. When someone came to A.I.T. fresh out of basic we called them newbie or noobs.

It is one of those slang words that has somehow found it's way into normal everyday English. Informal word.

A few months ago, I was driving home from work via an alternate route due to construction. I happened to pass an old, dilapidated firehouse - a classic piece of turn-of-the-century St. Louis brick construction, complete with horse-doors, hayloft, the whole works. I'm a nut for old quality architecture. I noticed there was a "For Sale" sign on it. Instantly, I thought "I should just bite the bullet and buy some US$ so I can buy that build and fix it up."

I was almost a mile away before I realized what I had thought.

Alas, I recently passed the building again, and it has been condemned. It was in really bad shape, so it doesn't surprise me, but it is disheartening. Here's a photo of it before it was condemned: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=1700+Locust+St,+St.+Louis,+MO&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=44.658568,93.164063&ie=UTF8&ll=38.63225,-90.204752&spn=0.000676,0.001422&t=h&z=20&layer=c&cbll=38.632229,-90.204767&panoid=h-38QBCFZieVQR3Pys3vDg&cbp=12,48.8057853703213,,0,-19.283018867924536
