I was pulling weeds from the backyard at my Mom and Dad's, when my Mom warned me that the rose brush leans out over the sidewalk. I remember thinking to myself... I'll just rotate it out of the way... There is a building down the street from me, surrounded by a big lawn... lots of prim land Max

I have purchased clothes based on what I liked on my avatar... From: Nic Writer Do dreams count? Yeah dreams for me too. RL situations I don't really bleed into SL, but o some of the dreams I have had... My first day after being here I was dreaming of talking to someone who looked like they could be a char off SL, and the scenery was like some kind of sunset... I was talking toher about I had seen her before, and it was not like any avatar I had seen SL. Another one my RL brother was showing me this hud that one could perform abortions with, but the thing was when it "rezzed" it was doing the abortion on a chalk board animation, kind of like the roller coaster scene off the Peter Gabriel video "big time" or "sledge hammer" [I forget which one had him riding a roller coaster on a chalkboard.] I woke up terrified after that one, cause the person doing this had like this weird blank facial expression like an avatar always does.

The other morning, in RL, I was getting dressed for work. I picked out a skirt I wanted to wear and then normally would have look for the right length slip. Instead, I started looking for the glitch pants.

I haven't spanked anyones ass or shouted RRUUBBBGGAAA at a danceclub in RL yet. But then I don't do those things in SL either, I just get them done to me. My most likely SL overspill moments are when I'm doing other things on the computer.

Great thread!

I don't know how many times I've caught myself just as I've placed my fingers on the mouse button or arrow keys to pan around pics on other sites. Makes my also-SL-addicted DD and I chuckle occasionally (she admits to doing that, too).

Many times I have almost reached out with my hand to focus/zoom on a faraway item in the store.
This one is worse, though, and I have reported it here in these forums in the past. Some months ago I was driving past a new commercial construction site. The exterior walls were complete but the driveways & parking areas were not yet paved. Lining the driveway were 2 tidy rows of concrete blocks still on their pallets. I found myself thinking they were boxes of freebies, and I wished I had time to stop and look.

I woke up one morning and decided exactly what boots I was going to wear..I felt really excited because I do love them so much. I went to my shoe cupboard and actually rummaged...and rummaged..and got a little irritable when I couldnt find them.
Yes..they were my new boots in SL - DOH.

From: Conifer Dada My most likely SL overspill moments are when I'm doing other things on the computer. I try not to be on SL while at the same time doing RL things, particularly forum or chat about work with professional contacts. I haven't had any bad experience, but I know that it would happen. So far, I have not asked the sales person at a RL clothing store if glitch pants came with a skirt. But give me time and I might accidentally do that!

From: HoneyBear Lilliehook When our house burned down in RL, my husband and I looked at each other and said "let's just rez a new one!" I'm sorry to hear about your RL house. It's got to be a bit of a silver lining that your husband and you are so much on the same wavelength, though... Replacing a house---an expensive proposition. The day the engineers achieve that "Lawnmower Man" capacity for people to move themselves into the virtual world....well, with the global economy looking the way it does, there might be quite a few volunteers...

A few weeks ago I saw in sky what I first thought were avatars flying towards me until I remembered that avatars don't fly overhead here, large birds do.

ummm yeah how would you adjust the camera view on THAT one when they look at you sideways? hahahhaa OK for SL bleedover moments, I am sure as I get more involved in it I will have plenty more... I just hope I don't fall off a cliff and expect to land on my feet unharmed... Or go to a store and ask for freebies [MANY people do this RL who have never heard of SL, my best friend is one such person] So if RL bled over into SL instead of SL bleeding into RL, would an avatar spend hours on a computer playing a game called "Real Life" or maybe "3rd Life"? crazy.

Closest I can remember coming to RL bleedover is looking at the upper right hand corner of my monitor in my cubicle at work to see who was nearby. That is where I keep the minimap in SL.
I don't think I'm in any danger of poking at a RL lady to read her profile.

I don't really do bleed-over but I do notice the little differences between RL and SL. Like, when I go to the mall in RL I notice that.. 1. There are other people there. 2. People are shorter and wider than I expect. (aspect ratio issue, I think) 3. Cheap photo-real skins are popular. 4. All people wear clothes.

True enough---there are definitely fewer six-foot tall women in hooker attire in your average RL mall, than at the average SL gathering... (except in Los Angeles, of course.)
