In response to a support ticket about the migration of the OnRez accounts of those of us banned from SLX back in the day, Minerva Linden informed me that "all actions performed prior to acquisition by Linden Lab are subject to Xstreet’s Terms of Service, and as such will not be re-evaluated at this time." Guess M Linden's replies here: /352/72/304420/2.htmlare irrelevant. I find it odd that he didn't just state this at the time of the questions. Any response M Linden? Are we to pay for a premium account that is limited? I think not. I have not operated outside of XStreet SL's TOS and would like to know why my premium account is limited. Thanks T

I think since they are taking over XstreetSL they need to RESET the ban list.
Especially since XstreetSL is becoming a function and feature of SecondLife.

Tanner, I can see that you were very outspoken about trademark issues and Anshe Chung on the XStreet forums, did that result in your banning?
I'm not saying it did, I'm just trying to understand, there had to be some reason.

From: Ciaran Laval if you didn't operate outside their TOS, why are you banned? It is pretty easy to get banned from SLX/XstreetSL. I have heard some ugly stories. Especially from ex-forum users over there. Those forums are like scary. Get banned there and you lose your web-market business.

Of course it did, and when she openly stated that she intended to control the value of the Linden dollar, it should have been her that was banned.

Beyond the reasons why, I think anyone banned under previous ownership needs to be reinstated now that it is a part of LL's SL operation, otherwise you are punishing people who were in good standing as far as LL was concerned before the takeover. It's almost a preemptive action. Unacceptable , in my opinion.

From: Tanner Devonshire Kind of like Where's Waldo, can you find the two questions in the original post? Okay, I'll play. "Any response M Linden?" Pointless to ask, since Lindens never answer questions here. "Are we to pay for a premium account that is limited?" Question seems to assume that participating in SLX is a right and not a privilege. The quoted LL statement in the OP makes it clear that it's the latter, and that they don't intend to go back now and review SLX's reasons for disciplinary actions taken prior to their acquisition of the service. As to the unspoken question of "Is this fair?" - I'm sure you'll find varying opinions on that here, but since when have resident opinions mattered much to the powers that be?

It seems possible that some folks might have been for a reason that ought to stick - fraud, selling secrets of SL exploitation, illegal actions, etc.

I think the bans should be revoked if they were related to forum behavior. Just because you get banned here on the SL forums does not mean you can't ever log in to SL again (well, most of the time....) XStreet bans that were for fraud or content theft should stand.
