Only that bringing up a girl to consider that her future depends upon marrying a rich man is no guarrantee of a happy, healthy and fulfilled life - less so IMO, than supporting the view that marriage should be based upon mutual respect and affection - or "love" as it may be called.

If Jig's relationship is based on mutual respect and affection they will be happy - other differences can be accepted. If it is based upon money, they don't stand a hope!

I am simply raising my daughter to demand high standards of any beaux that might have the temerity to court her.

I keep thinking about Rick Moranis is Spaceballs when that comes up. The irony is that a lot of devastatingly sexy people are incredibly lonely; they can't stop people hitting on them, or picking them up as a trophy and dropping them again... SL is a natural place to hide from all that crap.

(I have been described as both "dangerously smooth" and "really sexy, you know, like Nigel Planer in "the young ones" - two unsolicited testimonials which contain enough ambiguity and sly irony to keep me with a shrink for *decades*...)

Oh, yeah, age. The one thing that absolutely guarantees the end of a nice chat-up is if you reveal that you were being a very very bad person, in RL, when the other person was just about in kindergarten. It stings. Really badly.

PS, watch out for those personal details - I'm in the same town as you and from what you've been revealing, I don't think it would take me very long to work you out: and I'm a nice honest person with your best interests at heart. Think about what others, less well motivated, might do with your soul-baring exercises. Serously.

You seem to have got things somewhat screwed up. I posted a response to one post in particular, and I quoted it so there can't be any mistake. It was not about the thread, the topic of the thread, any other posts in the thread, the OP's posting history, opinions, nature, etc. etc. etc. Perhaps you'd like to go back and see - then you'll realise that you've got it screwed up.

You have to be more specific.

When women are 30-40 is the only decade worth bothering with them.

1. They can be desperate, to get married and/or to have a baby before the biological clock stops ticking, which makes them conveniently credulous.

2. Their looks haven't got too jaded and they usually haven't yet had to resort to surgery to unsag.

3. Occasionally, their brains have switched on, although this doesn't last long; for a short period they realise that they can't change men, although this tends to revert after a while.

4. When they exclaim "Oh God!" in bed, it doesn't yet mean that they have realised the ceiling needs repainting.

5. They have generally got enough money that you don't need to be subsidising their every whim. If they haven't . . . well, forget them.

My real statements Windswept are what I was referring to - "SL Jig" is unable to be as shocking as in real and my voice and "persona" does not translate to here. we all need to lighten up and not take ourselves too seriously.

Jig - you really, really need to pay attention to this, and remove some of the information you've supplied, and tone it way down on any RL info....hopefully it wasn't quoted. Considering some of the troubles you've had recently, and how it affected your SL....you certainly do not want it to roll over into RL.

I would send that advice to you privately....but there's quite a few other people who need to take note of that here. I cringe every time I see something like that come up, because I had someone show up face to face based on a few very tiny tidbits in a private conversation....and there are people here giving far more than a tiny tidbit in a venue that is read by 100's....1000's....and is archived as well....and that goes with any posting made anywhere on the Internet in any venue. Major Mistake.
