From: Jack42 Meredith thanx Lindal for them ideas .. i never knew they build homes under the sea. and i have seen the big platforms on mainland and wondered why they did that.;.. now i know and i dont know how much 4 - or + meters are.. is there a way i can tell how high or low 4 mt are? i know this is a stupid question but u know The easiest way is to make yourself a little measuring stick. Right click the ground in any build-enabled area, such as the sandbox at Help Island Public. Choose "Create" from the pie menu. Your mouse cursor changes to a magic wand. Click the magic wand on the ground again and a plywood cube will appear. You will also see a new window on your screen, the Editing window. If it has a button that says "More", click it to fully open it. In the Object tab of this window, you will see the data about your cube...its size, location, and position. In the Size boxes, you'll see that it is 0.5 meters on each side, the default values. In the size box for the Z dimension, change the value from 0.5 to 4. The cube will stretch, becoming much taller. At the center of the object, there are three intersecting, colored arrows. With your mouse, grab the head or tail of the blue (vertical, or Z axis) arrow and drag the obect upward until its bottom end rests on the ground. Take a look. That's your 4 meters. (this all takes about eight times longer to write and to read than it takes to actually do.)

No. You can only rez it on land that allows you to build, yes, but that's a per-parcel setting that can be changed by the owner. Some people leave it so that others can build on their land, some don't, it all depends on the owner.

Also, most avatars are somewhere around 2 meters in height.
For a rough estimate, figure two of you.= 4 meters.

For a rough estimate, figure two of you.= 4 meters. I'm sorry Lindal, I can't resist...this *may* be a somewhat inaccurate measuring system. It depends on if we're talking the "most avatars" that are the 7 foot Amazonians the Lindens apparently thought was a good size for humans or those human avatars that prefer a height more consistent with their RL height...which in Lindenland makes them look like midgets. Case in point...in RL I am 5'10". When I scaled my avatar down to what my RL height is...I look a lot shorter than many female avatars. The first time I went shopping and alllll the women were significantly taller than me, I was like..."ACK!!!! Not sure I like this" - being used to being tall. I'm used to it in world now. /derail off I don't know why I took off on that little mind junket...I blame it on the aliens *nods and adjusts tin foil hat* Errrr, Jack, just ignore the above

One thing if you go to the edit terrain tools. (click on the land and choose it from the pie. I think you still can get the tools and select land even if you cannot actually edit it.)) Each of those squars on select land options is 4 meters.

Jack, did you recently sign up as premium? From what I understand the 1,000L for going premium is for people who sign up as premium when they create their accounts. I became a premium member a year after I created my account and never got that 1,000L bonus.

But you DO get the $L300 per week stipend.

i forgot to ask u veterans something.. i have noticed just recently if i open a av profile i have new options that i never noticed before. im away from the game so i dont recall all of them but there were four of them . called "freeze" unfreeze" crs or something and another one i forget. is this a new function? or did it come with me signing up for premium ? and what are they for? i mean its obvious when u click on them u can do commands to ppl but why ? it looks like admin status. i just dont remember seeing it before. i did activate some button to allow me to fly in no fly zone areas. perhaps this is it?

Way off-topic, but you activated the View Admn Options. Most don't work, but you can fly.
