Nicely put! ;)
Seconded :)

I'm not looking for people to say that they will report the poison posts, but I'm hoping that some people will quietly take it upon themselves to do it when they are posted.

One little irony of this thread is that, the more Pep posts in it, the more often it's high on the first page, and more people will read the intial post :D

And the more exposure your and Rhonda's death wishes will receive. :p

Phil, do we have *any* evidence that these abuse report buttons have any significant effect? The most I've seen is threads closed by request of the OP, and one post edit (yes, a dead cat - guess who).

I haven't. I might be worth asking Millie if they are ever read.

I do know that one I sent in some time ago didn't achieve what I asked for. I actually asked for me to be banned from the forum (I ARed myself) because I sure as hell would go after a particular person - the only one who has ever really pushed my button here.

My honest opinion?

This is a help and answers forum. We'd all be better off if it stuck to that and left people's opinions about other people out of it completely. Most of us have slipped on that score.

It's a bit presumptuous to think people coming here for, you know, *answers* from *residents* want to wade through all this chowder. They have no clue what any of us is on about.

Including this thread.

Well, there's the rub. I suspect Millie is the only person who reads those reports, and she has very little power to do anything except edit posts and close threads. I suspect.

Spanking indeed! Can't you get your mind off that sort of thing for once? :p

I've asked her if anyone ever reads them and if they get sent to her. I know she can't do very much herself but, if she receives them from different people, she could possibly have a private word with him and, if that doesn't stop it, maybe she could contact someone who can do something.

here is how you do it..

1.You log into the blog as yourself.. keep loging in until you luck out and log in as who you want to AR..

2.Then you have to quote the offending post from this forum into the blog as if you were the offender(Don't forget to remove the quotes) to make it look like them posting..

3.Then log back out and then log back in (hopefully as your avatar account)then reply to that post ARing it for it's outrage..

4.Then giggle quietly to yourself that it worked and never tell a soul

You may also want to ask her if she even perceives him as a problem. If she hasn't done anything by now (by choice) I doubt she ever will.

She can't possibly be blind to it, unless she doesn't actually read here.

EDIT: I retract that last statement. She can't be blind it it, period.

She was reading this thread when I wrote to her. I'll wait to see what she says - if she replies. I doubt that she reads everything, so she'll miss quite a bit of the harrassment, and it's only in the last couple of weeks that it's been like it is now, so, even if she thinks it's really bad, she may prefer to see if it blows over.

Get it right, it was deleted, not edited.

Since it seems unlikely that reporting the posts of a serial troll will result in banning, ignoring it is the only option.

If people would ignore it and stop taking its troll bait, this forum would be a MUCH better place.

Why can't people just get it on and love each other?

*shakes head ruefully*
