What are the 3 things you most dislike about SL or your SL experience?

For me, my top 3 things are:

I dislike:

#1 - Land tier fee's - they are too high

#2 - Age play Paranoia - it has created a climate of fear when it comes to kid av's that is just wrong and reminds me of the communist fears of American history.

#3 - The disjointed new resident experience. It needs to be standardized to some degree with basic rules and how to guides pre-loaded into inventory and displayable as a Help Hud button that does not take up a hud slot and is clearly visible for new residents to call upon for help.

What are the 3 things you dislike most about SL? And let us not critique what others think SL needs, etc. It is about sharing ideas, not tearing down each others opinions. :D

(Isablan Neva indirectly gave me the idea for this thread. Thanks Isablan!)

Tier is probly #1 for most

1. Tiers are to high
2. Lindens do not think before speaking when they make new rules, so new rules go out and are changed almost same day they come out, confusing and irritating many.
3. Lindens say things that are obviously untrue..ie "Due to popular demand we are changing (add whatever here)" What is, Who is "Popular" demand, or "overwhelming majority"...etc
4. 512 for Premium membership isnt enough, they should double it or reinstitute true "free" first land as incentive. Its a no lose situation for them, they get more premium dues, and most folks after having a 512 more than double their land for more prims eventually.
5. Island tier of $295 a month is also way to high. In this economy they should lower that as well.

Another biggie is the "Your World, Your Imagination" seems to be slipping away. Just as folks figure out "Their World, Their Imagination" LL changes the rules again; and again; and again; and again...........

Overall I love SL, and appreciate the fact that LL has made a wonderful place. I hope they continue and thrive, and that I dont ever lose that feeling.

You know, I don't let any of that stuff bother me. You kind of have to roll with the punches that they put out :( They are going to do what they want to do and there is no getting around that. The growling and complaining about everything they do is so negative to the whole experience IMHO. I still enjoy myself tremendously in here, even after all the silly rules & changes went into effect. Like I said in another thread . . . Que Sera, Sera...What will be, will be :)

Yay :p

1) the previously mentioned evil flicker of satan at very high altitudes.

~~~really big gap in level of hostility~~~~~
2) the way the land mesh works. Anyone who terraforms a lot knows what I mean. Ditto for land textures.
3) LL's excruciatingly slow momentum towards enforcement of the anti-traffic gaming policy.
(Not to say that tier isn't too high, but let's face it, we pay it. There is enough demand to support the current pricing. If land stops being able to sell land, they will have to consider a lowering of tier to stimulate demand, but not before.)
1. people able to leave orientation island without passing a series of basic skills tests.
2. some people who are merchants that don't understand that this is a game for some people to have fun and act goofy.
3. some members that don't realize that this is a business for some people and that acting like a fool in their store is disruptive.
I could think of more I'm sure but I think my main concerns with SL are people leaving orientation island without knowing how to do anything. Mainly I think its because they can leave when they want without learning anything about SL first.
As far as the peoples views on various types of members, I think it boils down to peoples personalities. So really my #2 and #3 probably won't ever happen as a whole, but I can hope. I think people need to be more understanding of others roles they choose to have in a game like SL, and be more tolerant.
1. Tier fee structures
2. LL 's behavior in general.
3. That even my avatar is still unable to kiss his own elbow. I am really fed-up about the fact that this anatomical RL restriction is established in SL too.
I have only one thing I truly dislike about Second Life. Linden Lab, as a company, is an unashamed serial liar. I would be very forgiving of the myriad of Second Life problems if Linden Lab were just an honest company.
This, but one pet peeve to add. If it's my sim, and i pay the tier, and i decide, as LL gives me the right to, to boot & ban people i think inappropriate for my adult business, why does this make me bad? they come in, looking 8 years old, get an attitude when i say my ADULT business is no place for kid avies, and cuss me like i am wrong for it. I do not have ANYTHING against kid avies, but in the right time/place.
ok done venting.
Actually, I think we'll have a better chance of winning the lottery than figuring out the information from the Lindens.
Curious about the Emerald Viewer and all the features?
I think we all made it a wonderful place. LL gave only some ugly grass under our feets and some geometrics to rez. All other things are made by us.
#1: The state of the inworld economy. High tier would be okay if we had the economy to sustain it like we did in 2007. But it's a whole lot harder now, and that's turning a lot of people away.
#2: The incredibly arcane set of things one needs to deal with to get by ~ for instance mainland/private estate/groups/group deeds/group roles/lindex market buy and on and on and on and on and on. Doing biz on the grid, I'd sure appreciate some... streamlining, somehow. It's like never having hotkeys on a word processor.
#3: The whole 'big corporation' direction of things. I'm just not feeling it, and it kinda makes me sad. This is an emotional reaction I guess, but it's in my top three.
I"m going to add a fourth. Something has been funny about the world since late spring or so ~ the avatars don't cross borders well, there's a rubber bandy laggy... something that wasn't like that last winter. When this stuff happened before it tended to go away in a week or two, but this has been just... never ending. And it's not just me.
gray textures
border crossing failure
crummy interface
I had to delete several dozen complaints to fit in the "3 things" limit.
1) LL communication (or lack thereof)
2) lag inworld (grey textures, rubberband effect, walking thru floors again)
3) the direction LL seems to be taking SL - adult content, the corporate crap, etc...
1. Sim rot. The performance in some busy regions degrades over a fairly short period of time and they need frequent (like daily) restarts.
2. Bandwidth pits. Lately I've also noticed my avatar will freeze in place, and if I look at the stat bar, bandwidth has plummeted to 0 or close to it. A few moments later, it snaps back up and works normally for a while.
3. The Tao of Linden. Don't listen to customers. Give us crap no one asked for (SL Answers) instead of reliable teleports and region crossings. Let experienced talent go without passing on their knowledge. Did no one think to ask Eric Linden how to make a proper tree before he cleaned out his desk?
/me points at http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-4616 and other issues that are linked in there.
It's definitely not just you. I need to start going to Andrews office hour again and throw sheep at him until he fixes it.
1. Unlimited, anonymous alts which gives the sociopaths the ability to disrupt others SL experience easily.
2. Limited terraforming controls.
3. Lag when avatars enter or leave a region
1. The tier structure, which, as Desmond pointed out, is particularly punishing in today's economy. The big jumps were a bad choice.
2. The distance limits on linking (give us at least 64m, please!) And other builders' stuff: come on, make it possible for us to cut sculpties! (And content theft concerns, too.)
3. The inability to gather in large numbers. Or even in medium numbers. Lag is uncool.
....and, I can't resist:
4. MY ANKLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
1. Tier levels are ridiculously high, and climb too quickly. It amounts to a $300 (USD) a month hobby, if you want your own island, which is probably what most people want.
2. Avatar mesh - not enough customisability (is that a word?) Also it would be nice to be able to make custom ones, rather than prim attachments.
3. Prim allotment is too low on the smaller lots. I come in way under on the larger lots, since I like simple structures. But, on a 512, there isn't much to work with. Basically you get a place to change, and put a few chairs.
Those are the things I'd most like to see changed. I also think new residents should begin with at least $10L. No one's going to make multiple avs just for that, but I think most would feel better with at least a few lindens to spend.
