Dakota, you should know by now this thread is about everything and nothing. It's one long tangent and all conversations and subjects are open for discussion/debate/amusement. Some are important subjects which affect the world that adults like to discuss, like global warming. So, don't take it too personally :)

Stop it, stop it, stop it RIGHT NOW!

You guys aren't SERIOUSLY planning to start a debate over global warming on the SL forum are you???
Lindal started it!!!! And every scientist who's been studying it for the last 50 years disagrees with her. Sorry. Sorry.

The weather here in San Diego is very nice today.

I think a couple of significant items relating to climate change get conveniently overlooked by the global warming doomsayers:

just for fun, may i add one more, pointing out the most obvious overlooked yet key player?

While I appreciate that people need to find an excuse to zoom off in their gas-guzzlers, we need to realize that Global Warming isn't the only monster under the bed.

Global warming discussions aside, we can't ignore that we have to stop fouling the air, polluting drinking water, reproducing like rabbits and wasting oil that just won't be around in very short order. We don't need global warming to do us in - we are managing that in several other ways.

I don't care if I live an extra 10 years if those years are spend hobbling on a walker and draining the health care system. I'd feel better knowing I didn't leave a pile of granny diapers that'll take longer to decompose than I will.

Okay,l I'll stop now :)

.

I promised I wouldn't get into a GW debate...so Kaimi, I won't respond to you, except to say that (in my opinion) a lot of political correctness is hiding behind the skirts of science.

Instead, I want to give Brann a huge hug...you hit the nail smack on the head. There are Too Many People. Just about *every* major problem in the world today can be traced to that one fact. Hunger, high fuel prices, global warming (if you believe in it), wars, land prices, desertification, rainforest depletion, pollution of all sorts...it all comes down to too many folks.

The problem is, I don't know which of you to ask to leave. I like all of you.

The first is making shoes at night while, you know, while the old cobbler sleeps. You can bake cookies in a tree. But the third job, some call it, uh, "the show" or "the big dance," it's the profession that every linden aspires to.

Yeah; it's so sad isn't it? I have to go out for a while now so if I fail to respond to any provocative statements it doesn't mean I'm whimping out.

Thank you, CX, for reminding us that sexism is alive and thriving in the Forums.

:p

Brann,

I keep trying to meet your needs and requirements and this is how I get treated?

I thought you wanted controversy.

regarding voices....

Yes, Mac, I do hear voices. Heh. Not that way, silly. But when I read people's posts, I do have an idea of what their voice is like. Some are deep, some are sultry, some are airy...some are soft...with a slow cadence...others are more staccato. Some voices seem to always have a laugh on the tip of their tongue (or should I say, tip of their fingers)..other voices have a very matter-of-fact tone, some sound jaded or world-weary, perhaps just a bit cynical...And yes, if I know someone is from a particular part of the world, I overlay my idea of an accent.;

But generally speaking? With few exceptions (:D), all the voices I hear in this thread seem to emanate from people with good heads on their shoulders.

OK.. I am just gonna copy/paste this to my response way back there because it makes much more sense and is way better at conveying what I wanted to say! :D

Catching up. Hello everyone. :)

SURVEY:

If you could have ONE thing, or a lot of the very SAME thing, to roll around in a bed with and keep forever and ever, what would that one perfect thing/things be? it has to be one thing, or a lot of the same one thing.

I think CX has a deep and scratchy voice, especially in the morning.
Brenda, (in my head) has some kind of New York 'What the f**k are you talking about' accent.
