Ok, I'm going to agree with Yosef on this point. I'm not a fan of it either. Prefer my burgers sans ketchup and if I'm having a condiment on it, I like a mixture of mayo and mustard. Or whatever that secret dressing is Mickey D's is using (Thousand Island? LOL).

And I rarely use it for fries, I just like them heavily salted. Fries have to be really crappy for me to wind up putting ketchup on them.

Off the top of my head I can think of two uses for ketchup:

1) french fries

2) base for making cocktail sauce.

But hamburgers, cheesburgers, brauts, etc.. all get mustard - no ketchup.
