And btw.. I don't judge anyone for wearing or liking to wear certain kinds of outfits. I have personal reasons for my own feelings on the subject of schoolgirl outfits. I won't post them here, but if anyone is really interested PM me and I will share. The last thing I want is for this to be taken in a "pervert" calling way. I swear that is so not my intention. :)

school girl stuff has that whole Loli stereotype attached to it. in SL, that is a very bad thing.

Now that takes me back to when I was much younger and watching old movies on TV as a kid. Falling in love with so many actresses from that era. *sigh*

Yea, for me personally - I just don't want to pretend to be that young. I like being an adult. It took me a long time to grow into the body I have, far too long. I looked like a baby until I was nearly 16 years old. Hated it. Last thing I want to do is go back and relive THAT :o

Ladies Fashions:

Me personally?? I like blouses and skirts seperates, that do not quite reveal something or you might have seen some cleavage but you aren't sure. One piece mini dresses that are clingy. Sweaters of all kinds.... One piece bathing suits with no back like Esther Williams wore.

A tight fitting skirt right above the knee when standing but hikes up a bit when sitting.

Pumps, black or red. Red prefered. Some heel but not stupid high. Rounded or open toes. No pointy shoes that make the feet look twice as long. A high back pump with a strap around the ankle.

Clothing and styles from the 30s and 40s are the stuff. Look at Sky Captain, Gweneth Paltrow, Andrew Sisters, Faye Ray in the Thin Man series, Marlyn Monroe in Gentlemen perfer Blondes. Olivia Newton John in Xanadu...

Some of the fashions in Cool World come to mind:

Does any of this help?

"CX"

i love the 30s and 40s fashions! i would say about 75% of my inventory is from 1800Betties, Ingenue and Jet Dolls. and we wont go into the shoes....:p

and i have that outfit too Amara!

The idea of schoolgirl dresses and cheerleader outfits kind of make me RL feel icky.. it is hard to explain honestly. So, I am not one to be able to explain the appeal. :)

EDIT to add.. unless like Lil, it is a college age thing. The whole high school look that I see around SL is just.. creepy.
The high school stuff is way creepy.

In college, many of us had crushes on a professor and I think that some of the professors greatly admired the young sensual sexy body that a woman has at that age -- so the Naughty College School Girl and Professor becomes a common fantasy to be acted out.

From: Elora Lunasea
Actually I'm confused about what Lil wrote! Is she saying she was pretending to be a teenager hanging out at the colleges? I don't ever remember seeing a college where you had to wear school "GIRL" uniforms ;)

Lil! Clarify!!!
There are a couple of colleges in SL where the girls wear the skimpy little uniform type skirts and entice the Professors - though there are also a few male students that entice the female professors. Once of those colleges actually holds classes - in things like Biology and Human Anatomy - giving 'private lessons', and they also have dances and other social activities.

whilst you all discuss fashion, you are overlooking the greatest commodity to ever come from that era:

I think my favorite eras for clothing are the 40s and 50s, with a bit of the 20s tossed in.

Yep, we had a shop on the same sim as Halo College. Sarah Nerd owned the sim and I *think* the college too. We were right next door to the campus part. While landing I often saw a couple girls and a guy standing in the quad area I assume waiting to hold *class* hehe. They dressed in cute attire, short skirts and the like. I didnt see anyone wearing underage looking stuff.

Ok, that makes perfect sense. I was unaware that some colleges actuallly wore uniforms. And those "colleges" in SL sound a bit enticing ;) Can I go if I don't want to wear a uniform :p I will be the "bad girl" on campus :D

Where the heck is everybody??? Generate some interest people!

Was just looking thru the Wedding/Funeral pictures and telling a friend about it :) Fortunately she is an SL person so understands the basic warped nature of the beast.

Trying to explain that to someone who doesn't understand SL is just not ever going to work. Every time I think of something I've truly loved doing in SL, the thought of trying to explain it to someone else has made me laugh. Virtual biplanes, Forum CARP, Slut ratings, combo marriage/homicides, etc. I can't even imagine where I would begin to explain.

There are actually quite a few of the girls that don't really wear uniforms, just short short skirts maybe combined with some sort of top that teases a lot.

I LOVE halloween. I remember when it used to be Frankenstiens and Wolfmen, etc.

When did the whole naughty nurse, etc thing start? I was out last Halloween getting candy and this very pretty 30ish lady had on an outfit that I triple taked. She was smiling at me because she knew she had me dead to rights. lol
I love it too. Here's my best Halloween. I was living in an apartment that was part of a former Victorian mansion. All of the tenants were 30ish women and we got together and threw a huge costume party through out the house. There was dry-ice fog etc. etc. I had a long fancy thrift shop wedding dress for a costume and had my picture taken with most of the men who came in groom-like clothes. Also in the arms of a guy in a full gorilla suit. Really we all had such a blast that we threw a black and white party for New Years that also was pretty good.

THAT sounds like it was a blast!

I don't have cool stories about Halloween. :( I just love taking the kids around to get candy and watching them get so excited. Oh and the 30ish lady from last year. :D

I told my sisters, that I put a fake parrot, like the one we have in all of our kitchens in RL, in my SL kitchen. And, that I named him Paco, just like all our other parrots. I thought they would get a kick out of this. Sent them a photo of it to show them.

They thought I was INSANE.

My husband and I were eating dinner as the wedding/funeral was going on. He was quite tolerant of this. But he too, just does not totally get it and I find I have to come in on the sly when he's around. It's like I have a crack addiction, I feel so dirty :o

/me must have at least 100 shirts that tease a lot

Edit: Or I could wear the top part of Amara's dress without the bra layer lol!

Mind you, I also cleaned inventory in a major way the past few days!
