OH!!!

being this is the thread of no real topic and lots of out of SL comments etc

I just want to let everyone know what I did today in RL...

I had a haircut... well all of them actually hehe

yeah big deal right, people get haircuts all the time...

I had 14 inches cut off of mine AND having it sent to locks of love

so I feel really good today in more ways than one, I have a much lighter head (still shoulder length though heh) and I have a very light heart

:D

PS I asked the lady how much is needed for locks of love, she said minimum of 10 inches, so she showed me what 10 inches was on my hair, I said more, more, etc until she hit 14 inches

she was super excited!

it is a nice feeling in a lot of ways (plus she gave me a free haircut because of how much I donated)

I have always wanted to do that

PPS for those not familiar with locks of love

Yep, beautiful!

Lana Turner?

How about someone a bit more modern?

Kate Beckinsale

I have admired most of those women posted above for a variety of reasons, but Kate Beckinsale is my current fav - she just epotomises the sexy, modern vamp in underworld and is not forced to play it in a weak, tearful or wingey way - unlike the last vamp film I watched with Lucy Lui in it - which was fun but sheeesh was she ever wingey and teary!

Elora I absolutely understand the "crack addict" thing- my husband hates SL and any thing SL related. He travels extensively or I would not have as much time in SL as I do. I have no desire to explain the inner workings of SL - believe me!

Ditto Amara. My husband travels as well. I've gotten way to used to those times when he's away. Now, when he is home for extended periods, I go nuts. Next week he has nothing scheduled. I'm going to be jonsing completely

Can't say he "hates" it, but I would say he's somewhat jealous of the time I spend, which I try very hard not to overdo. I think I do a good job at balancing it. He should talk tho since he himself has had some overuse of the internet in his background ;) ;) He created an Av, but hasn't been in since the day he was "born". Actually, I'm quite happy with that arrangement. This is the one "hobby" I have separate from him.

Mine! All mine! :p

Totally agreed!! She takes vamps to a whole new level of sexy (in rl.. you do that in SL, Gabriele :D)

Kate Beckinsale is astoundingly beautiful, has a awesome voice and is a great actress. That was a pick so good I can't even follow it up. :D Though I do refer back to Jennifer Conelly from yesterday.

Rha - that is soooo super neat of you. I have not been able to stand mine much longer than shoulder length for a lot of years now.

Oh no, remakes are so lame mostly - they show how out of ideas the movie producers are :( I totally skip remakes unless the originals are really, really, really far back (like in the 40's/50's) and I have heard really good things about them.

Agreed. Remakes generally bite the big one.

Some are really well done. I like War of the Worlds and the new King Kong (newest I should say) a lot.

Some really tank bad though so I know what you mean. Some like Jaws I could never imagine them remaking because the original is still relevant today.

I still favour the original War of the Worlds, it is still the best as far as I am concerned. Sure the effects of the new film are impressive but it did not seem as though the script writers had even seen the original.
I must confess I have not seen King Kong remake, but I am not big into large ape films - unless its a Arnie film ;), or Planet of the Apes, of which the remake sucked as well - the original is still soooo good. (Get off her you Goddamnned Ape!) And Charlie-boy was very buff looking in that :)

I hated Planet of the Apes remake. I felt so bad too because my oldest two saw me watching the rental one day and decided I liked it and got it for me for Christmas. That thing set there forever.

What I loved about the new King Kong was how much Kong was animated with facial expressions, etc. You really did pull for him.

Annnnnd btw.. expect lots of comments for your free land thoughts on that other thread rofl!!! Girl, you just tossed a turd in the punchbowl. ROFL I salute you!

I thought WotW was awful. Dull, boring for the most part, the Tim Robbins scene was way too long. Effects were good, but with Spielberg at the helm they better be. It was cool seeng Bayonne and Newark get whacked but I had no sympathy for Cruises' family, couldn't have cared if they made it or not. They weren't likeable characters. It could have used some more of the war part, I was expecting at least one good hardware filled battle scene, A huge disappointment in my book.

I did miss the battle scenes from the original. Not to mention the sound effects of the lazers.

I am not a Tom Cruise fan so for me to like a movie he is in is very rare. The Mission Impossible movies are another exception to the rule for me.

*laughs* I know, but you know I took on Phil and survived so meh - besides I feel as though the points are valid and should be considered. You know me though - brave and fearless...or is it foolish and ill-conceived? hmmm tough one that lol

i went very off Tom Cruise after some of his out of character appearances where he espoused his wacky think. Shame too, he was hot in Cocktail.

How about entertaining and good at a debate? :)

As for Phil I would likely never engage him. I would get motion sickness from the back and forth mambo.

Yep, he lost me there too. It was VERY hard to watch MI3. I was glad I did though.

Cocktail... ah.. Elisabeth Shue. Another *schwing* as Wayne and Garth would say.

That's a classic sound. The scene where you thought the battle would be was a letdown. just as in the original they were able to take out a machine or too, they should have shown the tanks and gunships killing one or two of them, instead of that wimpy hidden by the hill nonsense. And the ferry scene was lame too. And no Thunderchild valiantly sacrificing itself to let the ferry escape....bah.
