When all the ageplay stuff came out awhile ago my parents were calling me within a few minutes of hearing of it.

"Is that the thing you do on the internet?"

"Yes, Mom.. but it is not ALL like that. There are freaks around there just like on the rest of the internet. They are taking care of the problem."

"Well what do you find to do there? Do you go to the sex places too?"

"No, Mom. We mostly explore fun places and (my wife) makes jewelry and sells it for game money we can spend on stuff."

"Well why can't she just make Jewelry for real and sell it for real money?'

"Because Mom.. she doesn't have that skill in real life. She can do it there though and even takes classes about it. SL is fun and there is lots to do."

"Why don't you just do it all in real life? I don't understand you."

on and on and on. That is a real convo we had.

I tried to explain planes, parachutes, carnivals, dancing, etc etc. She just could not wrap her head around why we would do it all in a internet place.

That's the thing - it just seems really wrong to some people that you are doing your thing in an internet setting instead of a real one. But I can't do ANY of the stuff I love to do in SL. Maybe I could swing airplane pilot lessons, but there's no way I'd be able to afford a plane. As for dancing, believe me. I've tried. I can't. I also can't explore anything nearly as cool as I can in SL. I can't fly, teleport, have great hair or get pretty girls to even consider talking to me. I still have a very full first life - I do great stuff! I can just do a lot of really interesting and fun things in SL, and I love my friends there. I can't really separate it from first life.

Some people can't get it even when they try. Just trying to get them to understand SL as a concept is impossible. Trying to get them to understand why a combo wedding-funeral is pure hilarity is just NEVER going to happen and is likely to get you locked away somewhere.

I was going to tell you to check out robots, but they aren't fuzzy.

How about feathery? Birdworx has some AWESOME bird avatars. You can find them at Grendels. They are very well done. I have seen several and I own a few.

I do have the aventity corvos or crow. It's an anthro but real nice with the wings from the equine added to it

The birdworx birds aren't anthro. They are birds all the way. They're on a much larger scale. I'd guess they run about a meter high for the raven, etc. So it's not like you are wearing a tiny avatar, but it's shorter than most people. You'll come up to an average person's stomach or chest in height. I don't know anything about anthro birds.

There's sort of a fantasy bird out there as well called an Avarian Sysas - sort of a giant furry ostrich. I like mine quite a bit, and I got him with the rider as well, so you have a little guy riding around on your back. You can name him and make him chat as well. It's a fun avatar and I get a lot of compliments when i wear it.

Yes - trust me - this doesn't happen in real life. They throw things at me, but it's usually vases, mace and restraining orders, not naked or near-naked pictures.

3. Halloween. LOVE IT. I live in Kid Central. My house is right next to a county park. Our civic association plans events throughout the year, and apparently we are Druids, because on Halloween, we always have a HUGE bonfire on the baseball diamond, and everyone heads to the park to see it, and to get cider and ginger snaps. The kids can pick up glow rings.

So...that means...EVERYONE comes by my house. I'm talking a cast of thousands (OK, hundreds). So, I really go to town decorating inside and outside the house, and I cannot believe the amount of candy I dole out every year. The best is when I hear kids walking down the street saying, "ooh, we have to go here...they always have cool decorations and the BEST candy!!"
