Ok, I did not know about the 'all sizes'. Hopefully that was the issue. Thanks Lil, trying this again, see if it's the bigger one. ![]() Yup - that worked, Treasure! ![]() |

I do not do landscapes much - which is why my aspect ratio is always set to a portrait - but I loved how this shot worked out.

Quick Update:
We've gotten a few more pics donated (yay!) and a few more potential pics. Here's the list with topics: Photos Received: Oryx: King Kong Lindal: Robots on Mars Claire: Psycho Shower Scene Skell: Blade Runner HoneyBear: The Bride Rhonda: Raquel Welch Clover and Rhonda: Night of Living Dead Potential Photos: Allegria and CX: Sweeney Todd Brenda: UFO 3Ring: Planet of the Apes Elora and Ghosty: V is for Vendetta Marianne Little: Stephen King (ooooh "Carrie" would be scary!) Rafe Phoenix: ? (Psycho shower scene is already completed by Claire) That's 12 right there - but we can make it a 16 month calendar if we get lots of volunteers. If nobody minds, we can do the same thing as last year - we set it for sale for L$100 and all proceeds went to my alt, HeiferInternational Xue, whose sole purpose is to account for donations to Heifer International. Last year we raised around $20 - enough to buy a flock of chickens for a family in need! (For more info on Heifer Int'l, go to www.heifer.org) _____________________

Ummm... even with the picture bigger, I can't tell what the heck is wrong with that bear's head... ![]() The blue one? Well, he's hooded, right? With glowing eyes that are the only thing you can see within the hood. And of course a shepherd's crook . . . or a bishop's? Or something . . . ![]() _____________________

Thank you, that is awesome... and the ice rink has some fun spins too. ![]() I find it bizarre that in SL, as in RL, there are things that I just "can't" wear . . . this would be one of them. I mean it's lovely, but it's just soooo not me . . . and I would look stupid in it. On the other hand, I LOVE ice skating. I'd nearly forgotten how much fun that was last year. Especially with a snowball hud . . . ![]() _____________________

That's a hood? Ok... I'll take your word for it. I often find myself uncomfortable if my human avatar doesn't LOOK comfortable to me. When I'm not human, it doesn't matter. I had picked this up fully intending to wear jeans with it, but to my surprise the outfit really did look cute with the skates. It's worth picking up just for the cute mittens. ![]() Oh, the mittens ARE nice! I could probably wear those. I'm trying to remember if I have a pair. Last year I mostly wore either a hoodie or a duffle coat while I was skating. With a toque, of course (I AM Canadian, after all . . .) ![]() _____________________

/me taps the thread back higher on the page
G'night an g'mornin all! It was a sorta quiet weekend for me, all in all. A lot of RL time an a bunch of inworld beta testing I hadda do, too. The beta testing is for Cubey Terra, who is releasing his Terra Starburst parachute soon, an I was lucky enough to be one of a handful to get an advanced copy to try an break. So far, no luck at breaking it, as it's worked like a charm. It's really beautiful, too! Here's me, coming in for a soft landing at the Bay City Municipal Airport: ![]() I followed a tip from the Forum Cartel chat an caught Zachh Cale in concert, Wow he was good! What a crowd, too! ![]() Kid Scouts involved a trip to the zoo, including a fun petting zoo. Here we are in the pen: ![]() I also got back into doin a bit more artsy sorta piccies with this one, I call it "Release." ![]() An finally, I went an check out Madcow Cosmos's "The Day The Zoo Came To Town" with my sis an my friend Lisa, which was a lot of fun. Only thing to watch out for is comin' home with a friend, like I did when I brought home one mouth breeder. Well, it was one when I left the zoo! ![]() An that's my weekend! I hope everyone else's was great fun, too! _____________________

"Tuque" actually . . . Pep (Unless you were skating in a kitchen, that is.) Hmm. I suspect that "tuque" is MORE correct, but this one is complicated. The Concise OED doesn't even have an entry for "tuque"; the full OED entry for "tuque" lists it as A knitted stocking-cap tapered and closed at both ends, one end being tucked into the other to form the cap; formerly the characteristic winter head-dress of the Canadian ‘habitant’; now chiefly worn as part of a toboggan or snow-shoe club costume. At the same time, the OED also lists under "toque" (as its third meaning) "Canad.='tuque', and gives a series of examples ranging up to 1977 from Canadian sources spelling it "toque." Soooooo . . . I take it that both are acceptable for the knit cap, but that "tuque" is more common in this context. Guess I'm really just a faux Canuck . . . ![]() _____________________

Nice pic, Lil.
Speaking of shoes... I just bought a pair and after I did, the display changed to the words "Sold Out!" It gave me a nice feeling. /me laughs |
