From: 3Ring Binder nice job! which causes me to pause and think............ i don't have a handyman to take care of this sort of crap anymore. looks like i better buy some DIY books. ugh You can do it, Tres. You really can. In addition - where you live...is there a community email group? Using my civic association's listserve, we often ask each other who's a good carpenter, or handyman, or plumber, etc.

From: Julianne Kaestner I know this isn't much of a picture, but this sim had the most trees I've seen in SL. It took FOREVER for them to rez and the sculpty bridge didn't appear until long after. This place is called "Eduction Village School Now Registaring." I guess you can't judge a school by its... uh, spelling. http://slurl.com/secondlife/Baby%20Talk/143/133/21/ Hi Julianne! Long time, no see! Wow, that is a beautiful sim, and a great photo. Love the bridge, too! Thank you for providing the slurl!

From: Weston Graves My typist guy bites his nails. You remind me of the young ladies walking the campus at the university where I work in RL. While I'm waiting for my ride, I notice they all have bare midriffs and shorts or short skirts. I figure I should wait outside my office building- you know, so I can patrol the area and look out for them. . *chuckles* Well, you could be there, at the ready, in case any of them need directions...

From: LittleMe Jewell Wicked Fashions is having a sale this month -- 66% off everything. When you enter the store, click on the Sale sign and you'll get a discount card to wear. Then when you click on something to buy, rather than clicking Pay, click Touch and then select Use Card and it will reduce the item price by 66% - then Pay the vendor the remaining amount. http://slurl.com/secondlife/Bal%20Harbour/155/68/22Oh - and this store sells guy clothes too. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

From: LittleMe Jewell Lil's (they stole my name ) has some cute things at okay prices, BUT if you go in the door and turn left, there is a TP to their 10L area and there are definitely a few cute items there: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Charisma/32/226/50. (sorry, no guy stuff here) I think you should insist on a hefty discount!!!

From: LittleMe Jewell Winter has officially arrived -- we have snow in our forecast for tomorrow thru Sat night. SNOW!!! Oh, yes...I guess you do get it a tad earlier than we do. Our trees have just barely started to change colors here.

I haven't read the whole thread this morning so maybe someone has already mentioned; the blog today has an interesting offer. Get paid by helping to put together the best destinations in SL. Some of you would be awesome at that! https://blogs.secondlife.com/community/community/support/blog/2009/10/07/wanted-second-life-community-experts-for-hire

From: Seven Okelli Oh, my little Home Depot story: not so funny, but anyway...
We had to change the front-door lock, so I decided to do it myself. I got the lock and took the power drill and went to unscrew the old one. Unfortunately, it was set to screw in, not out, and I really went to town on it, so it broke the head right off the screw.
I went to Home Depot with the head of the old screw (the body of it was still in the door) and one of the new screws (for size) and I asked this guy if I could just drill the old screw out and if so, could he sell me a bit to do it.
His jaw dropped open and he looked at the broken-off screw head and he said, "You broke this off?"
Me: Yeah. Him: *You* broke this off? Me: Yes. Do you have a bit that I could drill out the old screw with? Can I do that? Him: How did you do it? Me: I just took the drill and wzzz! it snapped right off. Him: Really! Me: Really. So can I just drill out the old one? Will that work? Him: I can't believe you broke the head off the screw! Me: I had a power drill. So do you have a bit that I can use? Him: You broke the head off the screw. Me: Yes, I did. Can you help me? Him: I can't believe it. Me: Is there someone else who could help me? Him: You broke it off! Me: Can I have that back?
I had to take it out of his hand. He is probably still standing there with his mouth open.
Oh, in the end I just crazy-glued the head back on the screw (still in the door). . O M G I am laughing so hard!!! wait...you broke it off???

From: Rhonda Huntress Good morning. It is my turn now. I will just lay my head down here at the desk and groan for a while. Good morning, Rhonda. *places a nice cup of tea next to you, finds a blanket to lay over your back, turns out the lights, closes the door, and puts a "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door* What happened?

Oh, in the end I just crazy-glued the head back on the screw (still in the door). . If he has never broken a screw then he must not have ever done much woodwork. A thing to remember, the better drills have a clutch you can use to adjust the power they "screw" with. Full power to drill, down to barely spinning for use in delicate wood. And yes, you can buy a bit to drill out the old screw.
