How I spent my evening . . .

Bored out of my gourd at Berlin 1920. But doing a pretty good job of evading the fashion police!
Scylla, I love this picture. It's full of atmosphere and emotion. Excellent composition, and and color. And a drop dead gorgeous woman.

Ah. Hence the boredom of which you spoke. Although I'm sure Pep made it much interesting than anyone else could have.

Would that I should waste my efforts.

Places like Home Depot and Lowe's now have great "ladies tool kits" -- comes with a nice pack of all the basics. Add in Google and you can figure out lots. However, I personally will not do any electrical and only the very basics in plumbing.

i'm not afraid of small projects, and i understand electrical so thats not too worrysome. but, i am not strong. i cant physically do lots n lots of things. it woud take me 10 hits with a hammer and a strong man only one. when i moved out, i moved lots n lots of objects and boxes.... it was frikkin HARD. i can't just move the tv, or put large heavy boxes up in storage. stuff liek that.

@Scylla - lovely picture!

@Brann - great pose, great pic. You've got one of the best avatars, in my book.

Everybody else, nice job, cute pictures! And good morning (when it's morning for you).

About Home Depot - I don't know whether you've had the experience of going there, especially if you are not all quite put together, but you feel like the belle of the ball.

Oh, my little Home Depot story: not so funny, but anyway...

We had to change the front-door lock, so I decided to do it myself. I got the lock and took the power drill and went to unscrew the old one. Unfortunately, it was set to screw in, not out, and I really went to town on it, so it broke the head right off the screw.

I went to Home Depot with the head of the old screw (the body of it was still in the door) and one of the new screws (for size) and I asked this guy if I could just drill the old screw out and if so, could he sell me a bit to do it.

His jaw dropped open and he looked at the broken-off screw head and he said, "You broke this off?"

Me: Yeah.
Him: *You* broke this off?
Me: Yes. Do you have a bit that I could drill out the old screw with? Can I do that?
Him: How did you do it?
Me: I just took the drill and wzzz! it snapped right off.
Him: Really!
Me: Really. So can I just drill out the old one? Will that work?
Him: I can't believe you broke the head off the screw!
Me: I had a power drill. So do you have a bit that I can use?
Him: You broke the head off the screw.
Me: Yes, I did. Can you help me?
Him: I can't believe it.
Me: Is there someone else who could help me?
Him: You broke it off!
Me: Can I have that back?

I had to take it out of his hand. He is probably still standing there with his mouth open.

Oh, in the end I just crazy-glued the head back on the screw (still in the door).

Good morning.

It is my turn now. I will just lay my head down here at the desk and groan for a while.
