From: Lindal Kidd Well, Pep will have a field day with this one...
Last night, I became a landlord again. In fact, I now own just a bit more land than I did back when I decided to get out of Mainland while the Adult Content fiasco played out.
What can I say? Prices were down, and I found a lovely home parcel. Then prices dropped some more, and the hotel next door to me went on the market. It's a great build (congratulations, Avion!) and I didn't want to see someone move in next door, raze it, and put up some huge tasteless piece of crap.
So I bought it myself. The Masocado Hotel is under new management.
Once I get things under some semblance of control, I'll invite everyone over for a little party. and hey! can we sit on the swing together again?

From: Clover Jinx Wear Gray for a Day in SL, in support of Brain Cancer Awareness My grandma was one of 17 kids and she was tough too. Used to make my dad and his brothers cut their own switches and the punishment was worse if they didn't bring back a proper one. When I was 10 or so, all the family had gathered for my uncle's wedding and 2 male cousins had locked myself and a female cousin in a closet in the basement, then proceeded to throw those popper firecrackers at us through the gaps at the top and bottom of the door. When my grandmother found out, the boys were unable to sit at the reception. =^.^= LOL, Clover. Great story. Extended families are great. I never knew my paternal grandparents, but was really close to my mom's folks. I didn't get to see them much more than a few times a year, as we lived a good ways away from them, but when we did, it was magic.

Big Hug, Seven. You are a very good writer: clear, entertaining, humorous and compassionate. I hope I get to read more of your writing someday. From: Rhonda Huntress Things move fast in SL. Conflicts are part of it to. If writing is an outlet but you do not want to risk sharing it with the world at large, have you considered writting letters to a friend? At the risk of volunteering someone, if I were to pick a big sister figure from here I would pick Kaimi. But that is just me. Pick someone you trust, keep writing like you have but only now it is to a pen pal instead. I volunteer! Well to be a grandmother figure anyway. From: Deira Llanfair Ok - I've made it. 2000 posts before the forum fades into fond memory, and before my third rezday.
Question: should I go for 2001, or is that too much like an old, proprietary cleaner?
Deira (last of the slow posters) Woot! Congratulations! From: LittleMe Jewell Folks - Scratch is my RL husband. If he contacts any of you, please do not talk to him about me. Gotcha. From: Jerboa Haystack Good morning everyone! I hope today brings you all sunshine and merriment. Here is a hint of my weekend: From: someone Magnified apples appear and disappear, Stem end and blossom end, And every fleck of russet showing clear. My instep arch not only keeps the ache, It keeps the pressure of a ladder-round. I feel the ladder sway as the boughs bend.
What are you going to do with all those apples? From: Treasure Ballinger That would be great, let's plan it! Don't know why we haven't done it before. I think you've said before that you're in PB; I live in South Bay but work downtown; so maybe best to do it on a weekday, we could meet halfway between downtown and PB. I have a business lunch next Wednesday, other than that, I'm free. I love rl meet ups. I'm pretty excited, Treasure. I sent you a pm. From: Lindal Kidd ...

These Apples
09-18-2009 11:18
A friend brought me flowers, she said they were lilacs But I've never been good with plants Her next presentation, a new dictionary She'd circled the word "romance" So enthusiastic, a little bit drastic I shaved her name in my head And as she beheld it, she said I misspelled it; Need more be said?
These apples are delicious! "As a matter of fact they are," she said Can all this fruit be free?
She wrote me a letter as big as a phonebook I've never been big on mail I sent her a postcard from somewhere near Lethebridge And wondered if it still went by rail I've never been frightened of being enlightened But some things can go too far Though sometimes I stammer and mix up my grammar, You get what my meanings are
These apples are delicious! "As a matter of fact they are," she said Can all this fruit be free?
I'm not trying to sing a love song -- I'm trying to sing in tune. I know I am sometimes headstrong Falling in love, catching fire -- I want to be consumed Wondering will I ever tire, will I ever tire?
