From: Treasure Ballinger And where DID you change clothes? I changed clothes and worked on my avi for ages at A-Lady's, in the changing room there. It took me a long, long time to understand the concept of a skin, and why what I had just wasn't good enough, the cartoon noob look. At first I changed clothes wherever I could find a quiet spot. Then I found the changing rooms at NCI.

From: Amaranthim Talon OMG! Setting up my first avie- I had a cromagnon uni-brow- my son laughed!!! My son felt sorry for me, he'd already been in SL 2 years before he convinced me to come. He tried so hard to get me to understand things, but had a SL partner and twin SL babies and was a DJ......so he was pretty busy, but he did take me to a couple places. One was a balloon ride at Bliss, and a couple other pretty places. Mostly I was on my own and even he couldn't get the skin concept through to me. I also couldn't understand why other people looked 'more real' than I did. Even after I grasped 'hair' I STILL didn't have a skin but had some nice, Sirena hair, lol. And hard as I worked on that noob face and body just couldn't get it right.......

From: Edith Shelman o I just meant "born again" because I haven't logged in since last september and everything is all new... upgrades and stuff. That Bukkake Bliss thing was last august. I didn't even know what bukkake meant, LOL. He wasn't a very nice guy after all. LOL! Hey Edith... How You's Doin'? lol. Ok I have to make sure I covered my own bet. But seriously, if you want some nice landmarks, send me a friend request in world and I'll send them your way.

From: Duncan Delicioso My first week in SL was pretty easy. This was back when The Sims Online was shutting down and alot of friends, who were already here, convinced me to try it. They took me around, showed me all the good freebie places... really helped me alot. I guess this is why I like helping other newbies out.
Not sure if it's that or because the female AV's love a hot looking AV helping them out... God I am an attention whore lol yeah all seriousness.. duncan was great at helping me out as a newbie.. that was what i loved about this forum group... they gave me some shit over my posting but they all were a bunch of help....

And I can say, without a doubt, I was the first person to see Spike naked... and it wasn't anything to write home about lol. Fact is, it was fun helping Spike because he was so new. And yes, I even called him the next morning to see if he enjoyed it lol

From: Malia Writer @Kaimi: Glad to see that my IMG tags seem to work right for you... it looks right for me when quoted in your post but in my original post I only see the link... weird.
I removed whatever came after .jpg on your link. From: Treasure Ballinger We know pretty much what Spike did his first week in SL, what did the rest of you do? I camped, did the money tree thing, completed surveys that never ended. Won a pink Volkswagon which is still in my inventory today. Looks like a baby buggy.
I spent the first week visiting places like the Ivory Tower and making myself prim hair. Then I started making clothes. Meanwhile my son was going around meeting interesting people and he got one of them to hire me to make some signs an do some building.

From: Allegria Kanto Ahhhh the memories... I mostly changed behind a bush on Help Island, heehee. I changed behind bushes and buildings in various sandboxes or newbie places. Then I set home to the changing platform a the hangout and used the room up there until I finally had my own place.

It took me a long, long time to understand the concept of a skin, and why what I had just wasn't good enough, the cartoon noob look. I found the most amazing skybox, which was open to the public for changing clothing. This woman had set it up specifically to allow anyone to use it, it was gorgeous. Two areas, fireplace, some couches with poseballs, a vanity, etc. It was nearly always empty so it felt very private to me. If by some chance I got there and someone was around, I would just come back a few minutes later or, if someone arrived as I was there, I'd leave and give them some privacy. I also found a beach which was rather private too. Always had my Mystitool on so I'd know if any other avatars were around. I always was one of those silly ones who preferred changing in private even though I know it's just pixels. A girl has to have a little modesty, I want to choose when anyone gets to see the good stuff

The castle's still there -- I still have the LM!

I was thinking about making an IHOP... you know... huge pancakes... a strawberry sauce slide... whipped cream in cocoa hot tub... because of the IHOS/IHOP confusion... but maybe I'll make a lovely changing room instead!

(Maybe that's why I'm going down memory lane, here) I wore the free radar from Crystal Gadgets, before that. The skybox sounds nice.

Considering my pancake hat, I'd vote for the IHOP however, a changing room would be a fab idea too especially since it's right over your store. Makes more sense (but maybe you could do it with a ethnic food flair lol).
