Or if you try to avoid participating. I whine about stupid politicians all the time, but then I always remember that I don't have the energy to even run for office and if I did run and get elected I wouldn't necessarily know how to do a better job than whoever I'd be replacing.

I think getting the whole population a lot better educated might help.

I am going to tell you about something so horrible that my husband did to me, that you will gasp in disgust and amazement that anybody could be that cold. He is not a coffee drinker, he'll drink it if it's there but really doesn't care if he doesn't get it. I CARE. DEEPLY. It's a NEED, and I am picky about it. A few weeks ago, he told me he'd make the coffee; I was getting ready for work and said ok, that's nice, thanks. He brought me a steaming cup and I thought hmmmm, noticed right off, smelled 'off'. Was getting a cold, so thought it was me.....started drinking it. NO, something is OFF, I can tell immediately, what is it, what's wrong with this coffee? I started questioning him and he fessed up. He is 'green', recycles everything carefully. Decided to try using used coffee grounds another time. Poured fresh water over old, yesterday's grounds.....OMG. Is that disgusting or what? I told him, look, this is very simple. I work every day. I WILL have my coffee, fresh. I am not recycling it. If I cannot have fresh coffee whenever the desire hits me, then I will quit my job and stay home, there is no need for me to work if I have to start recycling coffee. Was VERY gross. Other coffee lovers will understand......Sympathy? lol (He's my 2nd husband, at this rate will be my 2nd *ex* husband)

Even though I don't like coffee I also don't like unpleasant surprises so you have my sympathy. No one at my house drinks coffee and I don't know much about making it. But I do know that used coffee grounds are a good addition to compost so maybe your green husband could use them for that.

@Treasure: RECYCLED COFFEE? That is revolting!!!

Inspired by Marianne's pics, I went to check out Livingtree the other day, but didn't get any further than the shops. Bought a test skin, then had to go home and mess with a shape etc... I'm easily distracted, what can I say?

[EDIT: Grrrrr have put in the IMG tags 3x and when I submit it is changing them to URL tags... will try a fresh post.]

I think well educated voters are essential to the success of any democracy. I don't know of one that has actually tested this theory.

Here's a pic of some tulips I got a while back:

I really enjoyed Ghosty's tulip pictures and this is lovely too. Here in horticulture zone 11 the only way we can grow tulips is to keep them in the refrigerator over the winter. Luckily there are some narcissi that do well well here.
