Just for comparison here is the C130 Hercules:

The C130 is one of the most versatile and widely used aircraft in the world. There are many variants, including the JATO (Jet Assisted TakeOff) version , used for short runways, to my favorite, the AC130 Spectre Gunship:

It's actually a P-3, not a C-130.

They do use the same engines though, mounted upside down. :)

Very cool! Tahnks I will tell him and about the upside down engine :D.

And more coffee of course, in my ever present Fiestaware:

Ah, another Fiestaware person.

That stuff has made life easy on me over the years. Whenever I was stuck for a gift idea, I could always fall back on buying more Fiestaware. :D

Here ya go, Lil.

Thanks Brenda. I decided to use it to tie the coworker and her arms to her chair so that she cannot screw anything else up for a while.

Someone sent me a t-shirt, inworld that says: "I am already picturing you with duct tape over your mouth". I wear it a lot........

As for the job, don't you work for local government like I do? How do you rate people doing your work when you're out? Just lucky? Mine just sits here and stacks up and waits for me to get back, be it a day or 2 weeks......

AAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGG - I take one freakin day off work and come back to all sort of things being broke that my backup just could not manage to handle yesterday. I am so going to have to tie myself to the chair to keep from killing her.

Brenda - I need lots of duct tape please.

/me stumbles around looking for more coffee, trying to stay away from anything that could be used as a weapon here.

Have a good day all - I'm off to try to fix all this crud.

ugh. it would be funny if it wasn't so miserable to have to deal with. good luck today!

I knew I liked you!

When I moved into this apartment with Ghosty, I think he nearly fainted when he saw how much Fiesta I had. I can feed a small army on it :D Best thing about it is some pieces wind up being worth money at times. I have a lilac pyramid candlestick I purchased about 15 years ago from Bloomingdales for $10 that is worth at least $700 now (last time I checked, which is a while ago). Not a bad return! I never use it, it sits in a cabinet, I'm terrified now I'll break it!

Wish I had some. The house is still at my home, which is where the ex is. I have a ton of stuff I still need to move here. When I do, I'll make a point to take some photos. The dolls themselves are pretty spectacular. One is a woman in lingerie and the other is what I've termed her "cook". Both were very expensive but I got them at a clearance sale when a local store was going out of business :)

Was it older Fiesta? OMG if it was, you really should be crying :( All of mine is newer, from the late 80's onward. I can't even think about collecting the older stuff unless it's something I found in a thrift store by accident- I only have one or two pieces of it.

Oh no. It's 90's and later. My Mom has some old stuff, might be interesting to see what tresures she may have in the closet.

Yes, I work for City government. Our group has 2 DBAs that are SUPPOSED to be able to cover all the work in our area. However, she prefers to surf the web and do email all day long rather than actually figure out and fix any problems. So, she does the typical day to day admin type tasks and ignores any problems -- or tries to fix them but cannot seem to figure it out correctly so she actaully ends up making it worse. And in governement you cannot get rid of anyone for mere performance problems.

That's the biggest rumor ever. It wasn't radioactive. It was all a big hoax and has no basis in reality at all. That red color is highly desirable to collectors.

Edit: While uranium was used in it, and many other dishes at that time, the amount were low as to be not to worry about. There are many websites dedicated to this dicussion. It was not "radioactive" as we classically know it at all and people freaked out for nothing.

that was before i knew how to use the internet. i didn't see the point in taking a chance over some silly dishes. also, it was very few pieces. i would have gotten rid of them anyway, as they weren't my style at the time. some were chipped. mostly just plates and bowls. there was a really nice cake plate though, that i miss.

Chipped, I would have tossed them too :) Plates and bowls usually aren't worth much since they tend to get beat up easily, scratched up and what not. Too bad about the cake plate tho - that would have been a nice piece to have, even for decoration.

Let me know if that works, I may have to try that here.

The plan here today goes like this. Since we are behind and shorthanded, lets give it to the new guy and give him minimal to no instruction. The fact that he doesn't know what he's doing or how our system works should not be an issue.

Tomorrow the result will be something like this. What do mean it's all messed up? What do you mean it all has to be redone? What do you mean it's going to take another day to undo what he did and fix it all? How could this have happened?

Isn't working for a living grand?

My grandmother had a set of fiestaware...in aqua and saffron. Gorgeous stuff. It only came out on certain occasions...and she had other fancier china for big time events. I never did figure out how she decided which set to use! :p

I loved that fiestaware! But when I was in high school, my grandparents sold their house. they moved into a smaller place, they downsized, and gave the fiestaware to my aunt...who had 3 rambunctious boys.

Within 2 years....the entire set was gone. :(
