Hey Lil - Oracle's buying Sun now.

Pep (Better than IBM?)
Yeah, but the IBM deal fell apart over the course of a weekend, so I guess I'll believe it when it finally happens.

/me runs to check the stock prices - might be time to sell off the last of those Sun shares finally.

After reading a few posts in another thread, I ended up finding this link. And it's kinda frightening how close the checklist seems to be.

Try "well adjusted" or "great person." It's probably both of those.

Wow, that entire list SO reminds me of someone. I can't quite put my finger on who, some accountant with illusions of grandeur, I think. It'll come to me, I'm sure.

Never saw that one. Any good? I love Billy Connolly*no relation* and Judy Davis.

I haven't got around to seeing it either, as yet. Think it had rather mixed reviews but anything with Billy C in it can't be bad, afaic!

He's done some tv travellogue type things too, btw, which were also very good viewing. Not sure if they'd be shown across the Pond.

Just talked to my husband. They are all discussing what kind of payout on their options they are going to get -- which means that those worthless things might actually be worth a buck or two now. And they are wondering what sort of severance package they might manage to get out of this.

Reminds me of what happened during the Second World War when the US Army ran out of condoms and asked the British Army for some of theirs.

Morning Threadies! Thanks for all the great pics of weekend doin's and the kitty cats, esp the RL pets! 3, your little guy is quite the handsome devil, isn't he?

I had another busy weekend, Saturday night was the talent show at the Unitarian church, (some of us lead such glamorous lives, don't we? :o ) and I sang Sarah Maclachlan's song "Angel". It was a lot of fun... another great song performed was "Louisiana", about the 1927 hurricane and the slow reponse to the disaster by the Federal government. A really nice song. Then Sunday, we sang "Bless the Lord" from Godspell, another one of my favorites. All in all, a nice musical weekend, and i won't bore you with all the meetings and fundraising chores in and around the music stuff.

The weather here s*cks though! It was over 100 F yesterday and 85 already while I was driving to work! It's only April! One user is not looking forward to a long, hot summer.

ETA: Damien, thanks for the wildflower pic. Its lovely. :)

Hi everybuggy! G'mornin an g'evenin an alla that too. Hope ya'll had a good weekend!

Mine sorta started with borin' stuffs. I ended up back in one of the "brown bag" talks about adult definitions. it's all very interesting. I'm sure it's a bit odd f'r me people to see me in the middle of it all. Still, I like to think I might be helping in some way, a bit.

The meetings for these have been held on "PR Island," which looks just like the "Boardroom" sim, but is not regular access. I'm sure all the transcripts an stuff are available on another thread 'round here. Here's a piccie, too.

JP Linden is on the stage. Audience seating, counterclockwise is Marty Linden, Poppet McGimsie, Cyn Linden, Phoenix Welles, Blondin Linden, BlueGin Yifu, Melody Regent, Me, Pete Linden, Catriana Ninetails, MystressAnna Lovenkraft, and Kend Linden

Anyway, I got to shift gears not long after, an went to the big BunnyJam party on EggSactly Right. That was crazy busy. Towards the end of the time I was there, they sid there were about 87 avatars there. I know I could hardly move by that point. Was still purty fun. :-)

I also got some of my prizes from the -RC- Cluster photo contest, including my very own Suzie Wetserpants dolly! I love her lots!

Saturday, well, I had a lot of RL to do an wasn't feelin too good besides, so I dun have near as many piccies as I wish I had.I did go to the fishing tournamet on Livingtree, an got some free stuff in Edo Japan and in AM Radios The Far Away. Othern that, I really can't say I did a whole lot.

I did try to do a big group shot to promote the Bay City parade, but like I said, not feelin' good, an I really wasn't too happy with the piccie overall. I'll hafta upload it somewhere's anyway, jes to show peoples who were in it. Anyways, We also had some fun with blurtophones then too, like I usually do. I do have a piccie of that, which includes the rare Weston fish!

Oh, an then late late in the evening, I did this piccie. Jes showin how tough I am!

Yer prob'ly not buyin' that f'r a sec, is ya? Oh well, can't say I did't try!

Anyway, I was feelin better on Sunday, but then we had a power outage that day. I did make it through the Bay City Alliance meeting in the mornin', an spent part of the day at our new infohub in Moose Beach, Or near it, cuz actually getting in there is about impossible. A lot of that time I was jes gettin griefed by a person and their alt. Made fr good AR fodder, I s'pose.

Oh, an then I ended up the evenin' with some sightseeing, which led to this piccie, too.

An that's about it!
Your reports and great pics are one of my favorite things about Mondays, Mari. I hope you are feeling a lot better now or very soon.

The Linden gods smote me :(

I was having lunch.. so I snuck in to tweak my current obsession and i needed rain sounds.. i had this perfectly innocent looking thing marked Thunderstorm.. I rezzed it.
A huge cloud of black enveloped me! I culd not see!! The wind howled, the thunder roared! The very tree shook around me (OK, maybe not quite but..) then suddenly, though the rain continued to fall- the world had disappeared. Poof - nothing but sky arund me- :( The storm had washed away my new world..

(Fortunately, it landed in inventory- whew!)

I agree about the kitty pics. Your weekend sounds lovely, Allegria. I would love to be able to sing well enough to perform on stage!

I went to a great party on Saturday at my friend's place, which is a lovely comfortable house in a beautiful spot in the country. As always she served tons of fabulous food (almost all of it vegetarian) and her husband and mine and a bunch of other musician friends jammed on the deck. The weather was perfect and we had a great time.
