I am working today, in an empty building. I hesitate to share my working woes with so many unemployed, but I've been over-employed this year. I'm grateful while it lasts, but the stress level has been really high. The company I work for has a couple of affiliates, all manufacturing companies, and I head the financial group. Our office are located in the plant that is not doing well, while the other two are going great guns so far... So most of the people in our building are on one day furlough every Friday. It's very creepy coming into a large factory and office building that is virtually empty...

I had to lay off one of my staff because of the downturn, but really the work level hasn't decreased, because the other affiliates are increasing as the one is heading into the toilet... On top of that, I took a second job for a start-up one of my bosses got into last year, and am doing that work from home, usually from 8 to 11 pm at night. I'm just finishing up a three year committment on the Board of a non-profit, too.

Anyway, I wanted to share with you all why I'm really not posting so much. I am a faithful lurker though, and feel connected with the denizens of our little thread. I was distressed by the unpleasantness for a few days, and am really glad to see it's mostly just floating by now...

So thanks to all of you for keeping our thread going, serving breakfast, posting LOLCATS, and just generally being silly.

There's a painting I did that includes a two mountains sloping down into each other. It is kind of vague, but it kind of looks like a woman with spread legs. So I've not up that one up for sale. heh

Reminds me of an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond (not a show I watched). The mother was taking art classes. She did an abstract. Was very proud of it. Family were praising her. Someone, do not recall who, now, noted in a whisper that it looked like the intimate parts of a woman. Person who heard couldn't stop seeing that after hearing that comment. It was mother's big proud art creation so everyone pretended not to see that when she was in the room. Eventually she found out and she realized what she had created.

*giggles loudly, meows and purrs*

Well, there is also the option of helping others clean, and being helped yourself.

I remember that episode! I hardly ever watched that, but that one stuck in my head because I love abstract art, and it was so odd to see that older, sedate grandmother be so embarrassed like that lol.
