Anyone know where I left my cel phone? Haven't been able to find it since last night. The ringer is set to 'silent'.

Check the table near the door

Check in the fridge. Don't ask why I suggest this. :P

LOL

I actually do lose it in my bed sometimes... And I once found the TV remote in the fridge, so that's an idea. Stupid things are getting so small and thin, you can lose them just about anywhere. Maybe I used it as a bookmark.

I love you for this reply. I lol'ed in RL.

I want Ray's job, too. Ray - are you hiring? I'm looking for a career change. I'm willing to start in the mail room, or the mop room, or whatever equivalent you have.

I was an extra on a movie set once. All I had to do was sit in the front row of an 'opera' house. The main actor was suppose to walk past between the stage and and front row. He tripped on my foot and fell - really hurt himself. I was mortified. A break was called and since it was mid-day, we were given free sandwiches.

That's about as close to Ray's world as I've been.

Can I be Ray's secretary? Trout already has one or three.

Hmm.. I see.
So this thread has now become a 'wish' thread. In that case, both Ray and Trout can be _my_ secretaries.... Let them go out and get me coffee, wear tight pants, and pick up pencils I've 'dropped' on the floor.

Suit blames hamster for 3 deaths

Before anyone gets in close contact with Ray, I think you should be aware of:

Suit blames hamster for 3 deaths

Associated Press
BOSTON - A woman whose husband died after receiving a liver transplant infected with a rodent virus is suing PetSmart Inc., claiming the chain should have warned customers that hamsters can carry the virus.

The federal lawsuit alleges that Thomas Magee, 54, and two other organ recipients died after transplants from a woman who had contracted a virus from a hamster she bought at a PetSmart store in Warwick, R.I.

Bruce Richardson, a spokesman for the Phoenix-based chain, would not comment on the lawsuit yesterday but said the virus is rare.

"It's not a common disease in pets. It's not something that's tested routinely by us or others," Richardson said.

The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court last week, said a pathology report on Magee's autopsy lists the cause of death as lymphocytic choriomeningitis, a viral infection of the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord.

The virus, which is found in house mice, hamsters and other rodents, usually causes only flu-like symptoms in humans, but can be serious and even fatal in people with compromised immune systems.

In May 2005, the Rhode Island Health Department confirmed that three people died after receiving organs that were infected with the rodent virus: Magee; a double-lung recipient from Massachusetts, and a kidney transplant recipient from Rhode Island.

In her lawsuit, Nancy Magee says that PetSmart had a duty to warn its customers that hamsters could carry the virus and that people with weakened immune systems could die from it. *

So the poor hamster had the flu. Wouldn't it be the hospital's duty to test the health of organ doners _before_ putting them in vulnerable sick people?

Well, thank goodness it's pencils they're dropping... We'd hate to find them, umm, ill-equipped when the moment is finally right...

*gives a sidelong glance at Ray. I'm not sure how we got in this mess. but if she asks us to cook her some bacon, I say we put on pants.*

Oryx: They force feed them all sorts of fatty food to make their liver swell to the bursting point. It's more like a foie gras replacement than a liver replacement, but it gets them big enough to plug into a human. If the patient dies, the doctors get some crackers and have a really nice snack.
